Arsenal fans can't have any reason to moan. They had a first option, rightly IMO, said no. Barcelona wanted him out without doubt especially since they bought Rakitic and want Atletico's Koke.

United didn't want him, so didn't City and IMO, Chelsea didn't really want him. Mourinho wanted one of Pogba, Paulinho or Koke. Fabregas isn't a Mourinho type player but intrigued by their relationship as hasn't been harmonious in the past.

If Villa pay that for him I'll be sick.

Bacary Sagna on a free transfer, he's getting 100-150 k in wages. Not bad at all, hopefully him and Pablo rotate at RB.

Vermaelen had an injury hit last season plus with the way Koscielny-Mertersacker provides stability and continuity at the back, why would you break that up? I'd take Vermaelen and obviously LVG probably has seen something in him - from the former's four years or so at Ajax - that he could get the best out of him. Plus with his PL experience, won't be no bedding in period, can just get on with it.

Would love to see it, mainly to see Piers Morgan combust at another Arsenal-United transfer.

Also, reports in Spain say Barcelona are trying to sign Napoli's Argentinian forward Gonzalo Higuain, who joined them from Real Madrid last summer. Insane if Higuain goes to Barcelona. Nice to see Barcelona are strengthening their weak areas of the team..

Reads a little like Norwich's end of season run last year.

Speaking of Norwich. Ipswich away 4th game of the season. Not wasting any time.

Well if you like Messi then you can support Barcelona, which means you'll root against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

If you want to watch the EPL, you could support Everton as they have Tim Howard as their keeper. Sunderland has Jozy Altidore. That's if you want to use an American on the squad as a reason to root for the team. I would watch a few games next season and see which style you like, then pick a team.

The MLS is still going on so I'd try and watch some of that as well.

Yeah, I agree with several things SKS said. I'd avoid the top teams as you'd get bored of them winning, go for a team lower down the table so you can follow their good times and bad.

Everton are a good shout, if you want to follow an EPL team. They're a good club, lots of heart and some great players, plus you have Tim Howard in the team so you naturally have a reason to root for them. Villa have Brad Guzan, but you don't want to be a Villa fan right now.

There is absolutely no reason he should support Everton.

Hey guys,

You'll notice we made the split on the forums now, and then one of the changes we're going to make is ending these season-long threads. If you haven't read the thread in forum info and discussion yet, please do that.

I'm going to close this thread, and then whoever wants to can start up a weekly/monthly general discussion thread if you so choose. The purpose basically is to produce more threads, which will help us in search engine rankings.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about this!
