Obviously this is going to be appealed, but this is just the latest in a trend lately of federal judges taking closer look at state legislation and overruling them. The states seem to be moving rapidly in a very progressive direction on some hot button social issues.

Good. Let them appeal and let the decision be upheld. I am 100% against the death penalty for any reason. It is way more expensive to kill someone then it is to keep them alive. And in the end no matter what they did it teaches them nothing. It just makes them dead. It isn't justice it is revenge.
