I'd be particularly interested to hear the thoughts of married/engaged/about to get engaged people about this. It's a pretty eye-opening article into the diamond industry and how a marketing campaign has really influenced our perceptions of love, engagement and tradition.

It's long, but definitely worth the read.

It's completely aside to the main points of the article, but I always thought diamonds looked a bit plain for expensive jewels anyway. I've kind of made up my mind on using sapphires or topaz when the time comes.
