Terrible thing to happen.

Despite this country's crime rate dropping to its lowest in 33 years and this being the only incident of its kind, I'd say we still have a knife problem here - and unfortunately incidents like this are just going to make the vicious circle escalate, as it's likely that more people will start carrying knives to defend themselves from people with knives.

She seems to have been much loved and respected. Must have been horrifying beyond words for those kids who witnessed it.

I agree completely, we have a huge knife crime problem in this country. In Birmingham alone there's a new story of someone getting stabbed (not necessarily killed) pretty much every week. It's awful.
