Holy fuck, that's obscenely fast. Like, I feel like I have decent internet speed and mine is only slightly above average.

But the breakthrough is being seen as highly important for internet service providers (ISPs), as it means a greater amount of information can be sent through existing broadband infrastructure, reducing the need for costly upgrades.

Well, I suppose, but man. I can't even imagine why anyone would need that much speed out of their internet haha.

Hm, wonder how that translates to what they'll be able to offer the average consumer. If it's affordable and it's big enough of an increase I'll be all over that.

So we'll be able to see the web pages David Cameron deems "British" enough and appropriate for our tiny incomprehensible adult minds at super high speeds ... okay then.

What's the point in an internet connection that powerful, if you're not gonna stream porn with it?

Yup.

But greater internet speeds ain't going to cause grumbling unless the ISP's decide to increase cost for any deliverance of that quicker speed. Can't imagine they are that generous to do it without any increase.

I don't think it be cheap. My ISP has fibre optic internet and the prices are threw the roof. I just stick to the speed I have I can easily download a 4GB game off PSN network in 30 minutes so I am happy.
