Scotland's Independence vote: Yes or No

Postby AkydefGoldberg » Sep 09, '14, 2:32 pm

We've only got one Scottish resident in @SlightlyJames but a fair chunk of Brits on here.

So, thoughts?

I'd want Scotland to go independent - purely to piss off the 'holy trinity' Cameron, Miliband and Clegg who are all banding together against the Yes vote. Congrats to Scotland on having those three in their midst this week - can you keep them there, for ever?

To be honest, I couldn't care. If Scotland want independence, so be it. I just hope that England and Wales get a good looking flag if Scotland leaves the UK.

That being said, Wales isn't a real country anyway. They just rent a part of England.

Yeah I really don't care what they vote either. Let them leave, I think they'd regret it tbh.

Yeah I don't give a shit. Let them be independent if they want. I don't even know why they want it so bad. I haven't really been paying attention.

I don't see why we wouldn't want Scotland to be governed by Scotland really. I don't want to be ruled by a Tory government that we didn't vote for. I want rid of things like Universal Credit and the Bedroom Tax. I want Tuition Fees to remain free and to protect my NHS against privatisation. I want to stop wasting my tax money building weapons of mass destruction and get them out of the Clyde. This may be the only chance we get for a long time.

Ah come on, that wasn't that much of a nationalistic decision on his part - it's because the North's courses don't compare to those in the Republic, so he did a lot of his formative training here and made friends with people. In interviews, he generally says that he thinks of himself as Northern Irish as opposed to either just Irish, or UK-sian*, right? He just wan't to be on a team with people he knows a better.

* UK-sian? that can't be right. What do I say here?

It seems that way, but technically NI isn't in Britain, so I got confused...

Yes I hope they do. I mean I don't care either way but always nice to have another curling team come Winter Olympics time.

The only difference is Scotland will be known as Scotland instead of Great Britain. There won't be an extra team competing because no Englishmen or Welsh are good enough to compete at the Olympics in curling.

Scotland can go fuck itself. I think it's time we started paying attention to Sealand's rights.

Banks and department stores are warning of higher rates/possible relocation if Scotland leaves the UK.
