Mark Wahlberg attempting to get a pardon for decades old convictions

I vaguely heard about this and I heard it was so he could apply to be a cop which that article says it may be for but primarily for a liqour licence. Surely, someone else in his family could apply for the licence?

But anyways, thoughts?

I think it would be an extremely awful move for him to be pardoned. Sets such a bad example and despite one of his victims forgiving him, I don't think he should be pardoned.

In light of Michael Brown, Garner, this pardon would fuel more - and rightly so - feelings that the white man can do what he wants, and get away with it. Wahlberg did time but shouldn't have his conviction erased.

Fuck that. I'd be pretty disgusted if he was pardoned. People tend to forget what a horrible person Wahlberg is (or 'was' if we feel like being generous). It's bad enough he's found such success despite his crimes, we don't need to go officially telling him that what he did was okay.
