Iraq War: Round III

Postby AkydefGoldberg » Sep 25, '14, 2:31 pm

MP's have been recalled in the UK to vote on strikes against IS in Iraq.

There seems to be a stronger coalition involved, most importantly, some Arab states but uneasy in general about bombing - more than likely, will incur civilian casualties which then will create more radicalisation and people (young people) especially to take up arms.

The strikes IMO need to be short pronged and tactical moves. Taking out IS's communications or their strategic posts.

Nice to see Nobel Peace prize winner Obama living up to his tag with more bombs though...

A shame they couldn't encourage Maliki, the former PM, to try and involve the marginalised Sunnis to be more involved in governmental affairs, create more employment opportunities and thus not create a vacuum that shits like IS could take advantage of.

The fact that Obama was ever even considered for a Nobel Peace Prize before even doing anything was a fucking joke.

I thought that UK / USA won the first and second rounds 10-9, we'll see what happens in the third though.

500 plus MP's voted for strikes against IS. 43 say no. One Labour front bencher resigns.

Also, Cameron does NOT have to recall the House if he wants to send ground troops in. Nice move by Dave there..
