What happened to Angle's angle?

I was pretty interested in the storyline they were running with Kurt knocking himself out and being unable to finish matches. But then he beat Aries clean and it hasn't been mentioned in a while. So what gives? Did they just drop this angle? Or is it going to come back when Kurt wrestles Roode?

You never know with TNA, the last year with them has been obsurd. The writing staff has their heads up their asses and the show is dying cause of it
