Going to the Maximum Impact tour next year!

Postby Twister » Oct 09, '13, 4:09 pm

The Birmingham show in February. I'm really excited! I'm ashamed to say that it will be my first time ever attending a wrestling show. Quite shameful really since I've been a wrestling fan for the best part of 13 years

Anyway, pointless post really. Has anyone else been to any TNA shows? What was your experience like?

I went to TNA Basebrawl, which wa a houseshow in a minor leauge stadium. I went in both 2011 and 2012. Both were great. Really cool atmosphere. I met Mr.Anderson, Kurt Angle and RVD. Really fun times. You'll love it.

My friends and I bought tickets for one of the tour dates as well. Apparently they are meet and greet tickets so we will get to meet a few of the wrestlers as well though I expect it to be the guys on the bottom of the card. I judge this based on reports I have read from previous events. However, I think all people who attend have the chance of paying to get a picture/autograph with one of the bigger names (Hardy, Angle, AJ etc). From what I have read, the actual shows are supposed to be extremely entertaining, better than the average WWE live event that tours today. TNA try and make their fans live event experience more personal than WWE do. So you have probably made a better decision choosing to attend a TNA house show as opposed to a WWE house show for your first event!

I've been to the Maximum Impact shows in Dublin twice in the last 3 years. I enjoyed both of them quite a bit. More than I was expecting in fact. The matches were really good for the most part. I had heard that in WWE house shows the performers really tend to phone it in, so I was surprised by how much they went for it.

They also cater to the crowds a lot - changing stories and face/heel alignments just to please the local fans. The first time I saw them, Beer Money were heel on television, but they were face in Dublin because we do enjoy the drinking. :lol And British Invasion were heels, for obvious reasons.

I'd definitely recommend going to see them. Tickets here are very reasonable anyway. At least they are here.

Yeah, I have been to a couple of WWE events over the last year and you can tell that they don't put in as much effort. I think they treat it as if Europe only get to see the WWE once/twice a year so the audience will be more receptive to what they do no matter how little effort they put in. I have also noticed how little effort WWE puts into putting the shows together in comparison to the house shows they put together in the mid 2000's.

One question about the TNA Maximum Impact Tour; is the signing/autograph sessions etc limited to a select number of people? For example, I read that you may be only eligible to meet Samoa Joe (for example) if you buy his action figure at the store in the arena and then pay the extra 20 quid to meet him as well!

Over here, I'm pretty sure that the meet and greet is something you get if you pay for the first class tickets, which are a little more. I haven't been able to get them yet. The first time I was working late and the second time they were sold out.

I might try to get first class tickets next year, if we go then. Seems like it would be worth it.

I'm pretty tempted to go to the Birmingham show, just because I've seen WWE live and it would be great to see TNA and show my support for them. Does anyone know where they are taping in January?

That sounds awesome! I've only been to one house show for TNA and the matches were all quite good. Have a fun time!
