He was a good fighter. He absolutely schooled Anderson Silva at UFC 117, who was widely regarded as the UFC's best ever fighter at the time. Unfortunately he made a silly mistake and Silva submitted him, but what he did for 4 and a half rounds to Silva was unprecedented. He also has solid wins over other top talents (at the respective time), such as Shogun Rua, Brian Stann, Michael Bisping, Yushin Okami, and Paulo Filho. He also drew with Renato Sobral in a BJJ contest fairly recently, which is no easy task.

Aside from the Anderson Silva fights, his trash talk is what people will remember him for. He's the first guy to really bring a pro-wrestling persona into the MMA world, and at its height, it was awesome. He'll always be the trash talk GOAT.

Not totally done, but the UFC have cut ties with him for now.

Before a fight, a drug test came back and he was pumped full of illegal substances. He made an apology, saying that he was only taking things which helped his fertility as he and his wife were trying for a kid. After another drug test, it turned out he was on a shitload more steroids which had nothing to do with fertility purposes.

He used to be the host of UFC Tonight but after this, he lost the job and announced his retirement from competition. He still has a good relationship with the UFC though and will 100% be back when it all dies down. He currently covers MMA for ESPN.
