What is your favorite commentary team of all time?

JR and King in 2003-04.

King was the heel colour and his voice was squeaky and they had a nice chemistry.

Yeah, I would have to say JR and King for me as well. That was back when I was young enough to find Kings stupid jokes funny and JR would always be able to make a moment seem more exciting than it actually was.

JR and King in their prime were up there. Gorilla and Heenan just for pure entertainment factor are up there too. Great chemistry with both of those teams.

I also liked Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura. Ventura was underrated as a commentator.

Have to go with Gorilla and Jesse myself. Gorilla was just amazing. JR I could take or leave and King gets to be a bit much for me.

I was thinking of saying Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Venture. I liked Ventura a lot as the heel commentator, he pulled it off better than just about anyone. Insightful because of his time as a wrestler, but didn't pull focus away from the participants. Though it's hard for me to decide whether I preferred Ventura or Heenan in the colour commentator role.

I actually think King & JR was an overrated team. King was much better back in the 90s, compared to how fucking terrible he's been for the last 10 years. But he's never been all that great. Jim Ross carried that team so hard. That being said, it's hard to overstate just how good JR was back in his prime. He was unparalleled in terms of making you invest in what was happening in the ring, or pumping you up for an encounter.

It's hard to go against JR and King cause that's what I grew up with, and as Hanley said, JR in his prime was just on a different level.

Jesse and Gorilla would be a close second. Those two had incredible chemistry and The Body just had the perfect voice for colour commentary. Jesee and Vince also had a weird chemistry that made them very listenable despite how poor Vince was.

If I was gonna play fantasy commentary team, I'd love to have had a JR/Heenan announce team through the attitude era. JR/Jesse would be incredible as well.

A guy I honestly liked was The Coach. I know he wasn't on commentary for very long but whenever he was I enjoyed him. Love him on ESPN.

Jonathan Coachman is the reason why I cannot go back and relive the Edge/Undertaker WrestleMania main event.

Heenan/Monsoon and Ventura/Monsoon were excellent as was Lawler/J.R. ('98-'00). They were still very good during the Evolution years (fell off drastically in the years after that) but they fit the Attitude Era so good. Nobody could have commentated the Attitude Era and its style better than Jim Ross.
