TNA wants to sign Del Rio, make World Champ

Officials from TNA attempted to contact Alberto Del Rio immediately after WWE announced his release due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee on Thursday.

If Del Rio joins the company, he will reportedly be immediately crowned World Heavyweight Champion.

Del Rio likely has a 90 day no-compete clause, ruling out a move to TNA in the near future.

Not sure he'd be a good draw for them. And definitely not a good idea to put the belt on him just because he came from the WWE.

Not surprised, it wouldn't be a bad thing him going there. Although I disagree with him being made world champion immediately. There are others who are already there that would be more deserving.

Don't think he will help TNA plus giving him the title right away is not a smart move. I think he should earn it first then just give it to him.

Sounds like a piece of news a fan made up, being honest. I wouldn't be surprised if they had expressed an interest, but it's very easy to just throw news stories out there because it's something basically everyone is willing to believe (and even want to believe in most cases).

Just the part where it says "he will reportedly be immediately crowned World Heavyweight Champion" makes me think it's a fabricated story, because that sounds like such bullshit. Immediately? Like he wins the title on his first night? They've never done anything like that. Much more famous wrestlers like Hardy and Angle and Sting had to wait months after debuting, there's no way they'd toss the belt on Del Rio immediately.
