In my opinion, how about just make a nominations thread? Everyone lists their personal top 32 (IN RANDOM ORDER just to keep the voting process a mystery and unique; this way, nobody knows who is so and so's true #1) and names with the most mentions/nominations get in. We can start the voting process after this is over with. Give everyone a week to put their list in.

The only issue would be tallying up how many mentions someone has, but I am certain a lot would be willing to help on that.

That's a good idea, but I would say just everyone name 15 guys, maybe 20, and that would still give us 32 total guys because I'm sure some guys will be on one list and not another. Also, you could do the seeding process better then because you go from most votes to fewest to set up the bracket that way.

You know, people listing their top 10 would be more than sufficient to end up with 32 names. And it wouldn't be as complex and irritating for whoever ends up compiling the data. Plus people posting their 10 favourite wrestlers is the kind of thread someone might most occasionally anyway, so it'd be like a game within a game.

Good for the most part. Is this an all-time list though?

I'm not sure Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, RVD are guys I'd put in my Top 32 All time, even Booker T.

Aren't there some prominent guys we've forgotten? Bruno Sammartino? Or is he too early for this?

I'd totally put Bobby Roode and Austin Aries on my top 32 of all time. Probably my top 10 even. Particularly Roode, nobody in wrestling has entertained me more over the last couple of years. And guys like him are a lot more likely to pick up votes than Sammartino.

Or how about this, just however many you want to name with a max of like 20? Then we pick from there.

Yeah 20 ensures we'll have a better chance of having enough to even fill a bracket of 32. Even then we might not.

Also can't believe Steve would put Aries and Roode in his Top 10, I'm not even sure anyone from the TNA would make my list at all. Even if those guys are good.

There are probably guys who have entertained me more overall over the years, during a period where I was more excited about wrestling in general. But objectively, if I was weighing the talents of two men against each other, there's not many who could beat out Roode for me. The guy doesn't have a hole in his game, if you ask me. While several guys who will make many people's lists are weak in some area or another.
