What will be MOTN at Genocide?

Postby Str8Shooter » Jul 30, '14, 2:52 pm

This PPV is looking stacked top to bottom, and there are numerous contenders for Match of the Night. So which match will end up stealing the show?

I'm not sure if Kyle/Comeau's vs Zanetti's will have a match, or if Gryphon and Zaid will, I'll add them if they're confirmed.

I'm pretty pumped for Laddercage, there's only been one to happen so far and it was so long ago, so it'll be awesome to see a fresh take on it. Plus we all saw what Kaiser and Prophet did together in the main event on the last PPV, so this one is sure to be just as amazing.

Sidenote, if Jailbreak is awesome I want credit, and I also demand public apologies from anyone who has bashed the idea in the past. I'm looking at you @Hanley! :P

Damn this show is stacked. All of the big three are potentiol MOTN. Ill have to vote for Jailbreak because seeimg them pull off that crazy idea will be awesome. This card is definatley PCW's best yet so far.

Also @Str8shooter, i think Zaid/Gryphon is pretty much confired since Zaid talked about the upcomming match in the promo this week! :D

People keep tagging me in talks about Jailbreak. I'm trying to be good and not chime in bashing the concept, cos I don't want to bring the mood down. Yet people just won't let me leave it alone. :lol Now if I say anything vaguely negative they're still all going to jump down my throat, so I'll have to behave. :P

As good as I thought Kaiser & prophet's first match was, the championship rematches are never as satisfying from a story perspective as the original title match. Foster winning the title is always going to make for a bigger moment than anything that can happen here. That's not a knock on this match being booked - I think this match makes a lot of sense. I just don't think it can reach the heights of their last confrontation.

Ladder cage is also a good idea booking wise; introducing a match type that only Kaiser has experience with gives the challenger an advantage. I have to say that I still don't understand the appeal of the match type as a concept really, but I'm sure the writers will still make it entertaining. And increasing the size of the cage was a good idea.

So while the main event should be good, I have to go with my boys Evans and Logan to take match of the night. Lots of history here and two writers that understand each other and have good chemistry. It should be a good one.

@Hanley! Don't worry, I'm just going to try and bait you into commenting on all the PCW shows. Which will eventually suck you in to coming back with Mike Maverick. :tim

I went with Omega vs. Magnum Phillips. Tim can make anything gold, I'm sure HFX is pumped to write this, and the Hardcore/No Holds Barred gimmick should take this match up a notch. I think this is Magnum's first hardcore match so it will be interesting to see how his physical style fits into that environment. Omega is more of a high-flyer which should make for some interesting spots. And with the stipulation that the Lone Star Championship can only change hands via knock-out, I'm curious to see if/how both guys use the hardcore rules to achieve that knockout. Plus, Genocide takes place in Omega's hometown, so the hot crowd will provide another element to this one.

I think it will be Shane Evans vs Andrew Logan. For my money my two favorite writers to read in PCW working together in a feud that I have loved so far. But yeah, I have really high expectations for Laddercage @Hanley!, Daz vs Miller, Omega vs Magnum in what should be a brutal brawl, everything looks great.

I voted for Logan vs. Evans, sure to be a great match judging from Shane's match with Bishop and Andrew playing mind games. Should be a good psychological contest.
