Phoenix Fray - I'm excited to see a battle royal is going to take place, it will probably be tricky to write, but I'm really looking forward to writing it and funny that a $500 fee is needed to enter, and I like it, good competitors in it with Bishop, Reece, Sears, Sato, The Master, & Ace, and I'm thinking that the battle royal will more than likely elevate a feud between Bishop and Reece. I'm also gonna keep an extra close eye on Matt Sears, dude is out there, in a good way.

Disciples vs NRC & Spartan – Good six man action between the two teams, Spartan blended in real well with NRC. I'm still getting use to not hearing Chambers give one of her introductions before each match, I miss those. Nice for The Disciples to pick up some momentum by picking up a win over their respective opponent's for Resurgence.

Road to Resurgence: Foster – Absolutely loved this, favorite thing I read on the card. The flashbacks and looking at Foster's career from being a henchman in the Mafia to where he is now. It almost reminded me of Bret Hart's 'You Start a Fire' video to an extent. A bonus was being able to see flashbacks of my favorite WCSF wrestler Mark Thomas and Dylan being mentioned in it too :golfclap . So looking forward to the match between Cavanah and Foster.

Man to Real Man – Nice little segment between Zaid and Valentino. Zaid still trying to win DiFiero's heart and Johnny restraining himself cost him this time around with Zaid's cheap shot. I wonder if Gia will play a part in the actual match on who comes out the victor.

Gryphon vs Ace – The back and forth commentary between Omega and Cage was quite funny. 'Eat through a straw' and 'nothing pretty about you' made me chuckle a little. Great competitive match between Ace and Gryphon.

Next in Line - The J Team & Comeau Brothers in a number one contender match and both teams arguing over who's more deserving and trying to one up each other in match wins and matches they participated in. Just see who wants it more.

Between a Rock & a Hard Place – Alexa was like an attorney coming up with her “rehearsed answers” and, telling her client to keep quiet or he'll incriminate himself. Andrew isn't going to listen to anyone though and he does bring up some valid points in regards to Omega and makes you question Omega and Gryphon's friendship a little bit on whether or not Omega is trying to let Gryphon be his own man or mold him to Omega's standards and principles. Gryphon lifting Omega up and throwing him into the corner was a “Whoa Moment”. Still questioning on whether or not Alexa is really trying to have the Logans have a fresh start, something tells me that down the road she's gonna have something up her sleeve since she's playing “lawyer”.

The Zanetti Family – I hope you guys like it, promos can be rather difficult to write, especially when you have to introduce and sell your character in a 30 second to a minute type commercial. I wanted to get across what the team is about without their faces being shown or them speaking. Hopefully I did, and the Soprano graphic font should give it away anyway. Funny how Batman references was used for Zanetti and The Master's promos, except Master choked on his :P .

Kyle vs The Master – First I was really praying that The Master was Jack Masterson cause if not I was gonna kick myself lol. It feels good to write a match again. Jay Cruz was suppose to come out a cut a promo during the match and me, I didn't know what the writer wanted Cruz to say or get across so I just wrote him stalking around the ring to distract Kyle, it wasn't as affective as I wanted it to be, but hell it's better than nothing lol. I apparently didn't read all the way through like I thought I did, have some writing rust match wise that needs to be cleaned up a little bit have to go and practice.

First Test – Again, didn't want Cruz to say something that the writer wouldn't agree what his character would say. So I went for a little bit and had Kyle interrupt him, just so I wouldn't cross that line.

Meeting in the Shadows – Spencer is getting a little creepy with his cryptic talk about shadows and what hides behind them, I like it. Question for Miller is, will he be next in line for the title. I remember Miller having had the opportunity to be a triple crown winner in WCSF but lost everything cause of his ego.

Society of Suck & Magnum vs JLO – Phillips is really trying his best to get under The Buck's skin wrestling SOS guys, for a second there I thought that the writer was coming back. Then the match was a complete squash which quickly doused that thought I had of him coming back :P .

Main Event – Miller just can't be trusted, with his arm only half reached out for the tag and just abandons Cavanah and allowing Daz and Foster to pick up the win. The beatdown Cavanah gave Foster was just brutal with Foster not staying down after all those chair shots that can weaken even the strongest man. Foster showing Cavanah just how hard it's going to be to put him away at Resurgence. Show ended on a very high note. :clap :headbang

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 10 RESULTS!

Postby SKS » May 14, '14, 11:00 am

Not going to give my full comments yet as I've got to study for my last exam, but I'll point out a few things I liked.

I liked the start of the show and especially Bishop saying welcome to Onslaught STARRING Orion Bishop. Reminded me of the RAW SUPERSHOW STARRING BROCK LESNAR thing that happened a few years ago. :lol Phoenix Fray Battle Royal sounds good. I know that the Resurgence card already seems stacked so I was skeptical of so many matches being on the card. I think this kinda solves that problem as a bunch of stars can get involved in one thing while it is still open for individual feuds to occur. I like Reece's attitude and it's good he's standing up to Bishop. Matt Sears continues to intrigue me and this relationship with Onyx is making me feel uneasy.

I'm really liking Zaid's character right now, he's vastly entertaining and a guy you want to see get his ass kicked, but also laugh at the stuff he says. "New Jersey Jerk Off" is one of my favorite nicknames, haha. Johnny V seems really defensive about his relationship with Gia and rightfully so. Zaid knows how to push his buttons and these two have had an interesting feud. Zaid gets the better hand here and this leads me to believe that Johnny will unleash all the anger he has built up at Resurgence and make him pay.

Man, whoever did the commentary for the Ace vs Gryphon match is really talented. I liked this match, two relatively big guys going at it. Gryphon looked real good at points and Ace continues to be bizarre but in a good way. I still don't know what to think of the mindless stares that Ace goes through at certain points. I hope that there will be an explanation of it at some point in the future, maybe a proper feud with someone that can delve into his background/personality. Overall a nice match where Gryphon gets some momentum heading into the match against Andrew at Resurgence.

Good interview with the Logans, they are certainly detestable. Gryphon is being real naive, he should listen to his mentor Omega instead of thinking the Logans have changed. I think the interview clearly explains they haven't. :lol Although there is tension between the two I can't see Gryphon and Omega disbanding. However I could see Omega trying to help at Resurgence but in turn costing him the match.

I think it's cool that we're seeing Dylan Kyle vs Jay Cruz like I predicted. However, it is a bit upsetting that Danielson hasn't been on the site for a while. I think Cruz certainly has potential but when the writer no shows it's not a good sign. Hopefully he returns soon and these two can have a proper feud.

Seeing JLO back in the ring was definitely not something I expected. :lol At least he and Magnum didn't engage soft core porn, so that's a plus. Well JLO got rocked, damn, haha.

The Master segments never cease to entertain me, as weird as they are. I hope he gets a win sooner or later, albeit doubtful. We could be 7 PPVs down the road and he could still be win less. :lol I think Ace is my favorite to win the Phoenix Fray Battle Royal.

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 10 RESULTS!

Postby Everlong » May 14, '14, 1:57 pm

Phoenix Fray - Normally battle royales just seem like jumbled ways to get people on to a ppv card, but given that we've got so many new characters who haven't had time to establish themselves yet, I think it's a good decision. I like that Bishop was the one to announce it too, his new character is a riot. I just hope that with him and Jay Cruz on the roster with slightly similar gimmicks, they're able to maintain their own unique traits. Reece and Sears getting involved too should be good, I think these are quite possibly the three most promising new characters on the roster right now so I'm already looking forward to that one.

Disciples vs. NRC/Kid Spartan - Solid match here, but I'm wondering what the interactions with Hess and Spartan will be at Resurgence. Seems like it should be a one-sided contest and that it's just a stopgap before Hess moves on to something bigger and better afterwards (Nick Foster perhaps?) but it's hard to say. The Disciples/NRC feud has built pretty well, so I'm looking forward to seeing them in a full-on encounter.

Road to Resurgence: Nick Foster - Awesome, awesome segment, you can just imagine how this would come off in a video package. Classic stuff to build up the babyface. When you get the whole history lesson in front of you, and images of Devine/Thomas/Evans all holding world titles, it gives you a whole new appreciation for a) just how incredible the Mafia stable was and b) the kind of road Foster has taken to finally get to this point. To think that we had a faction where all four members could potentially be world champions is just unreal.

Man to Real Man - Interesting to see Johnny finally exercising some restraint. Nice character shift there, shows he's learned his lesson since losing Gia. Zaid is hilarious, that promo was golden. I like how the announcers hinted that Zaid has the advantage in a street fight situation. Looking forward to the way this feud resolves; nothing left for these two at this point other than to have the final match.

Gryphon vs. Ace - "You don't want to play mind games with Ace. Mainly because his mind is empty." OK, that was fucking great :lol. What Ace has done with his character so well that a lot of newer writers (and even older writers) often don't do is establish his character's personality in the actual action of the match. We can see from everything Ace does that he's clearly demented, and the whole bit about his eyes losing color was excellent. I think that's actually something HFX can improve with for Gryphon, getting the character's personalty across more when he's actually involved in a match. The Anthony Carriere sucks eggs thing... I'm guessing that wasn't HFX who wrote that in? Really good showing for both guys, but it was important for Gryphon to get the win going into a match against the much more seasoned Logan.

Next in Line - Ha, this was a fun segment. "You haven't accomplished anything AT ALL!" The Comeaus are usually a nice breath of fresh air, especially when positioned around other feuds that are much more serious in nature. Looking forward to this encounter, and I honestly have no idea who's going to win this one. I guess it depends on who's winning the tag title match, and I really don't know who to pick or that one either.

Kaiser's digging that Let's Get Physical song lately, I see :lol

Between a rock and a hard place - I wrote the interview portion of this before I left for my trip, so I kind of had to refamiliarize myself with what the segment was all about before reading what HFX got down, haha. I know SKS says it's clear that the Logans haven't changed, and I can see why it would come off that way, but I think it's also important to note that Andrew's ill will so far has been specifically directed toward the fans, and not toward any of the other wrestlers. There's still a chance he'll show something at Resurgence. Of course, maybe he's also still a mega heel and this is just building tension :P I probably would have written something different at the end for Andrew than HFX put down there, but I know how hard it is to write dialogue for someone else's character. I wouldn't have had Andrew run down Gryphon like that -- really, I don't think Andrew has any beef with Gryphon at all. The "I will put you in your place" was a bit much. But the brawl with Omega was really well done.

Zanetti family - Is this a new Mafia? Interested in seeing these people debut.

Dylan Kyle vs. The Master - With the Master involved, we know where this one is heading :lol. Six inch heels for Roxanne? Good lord, how does she walk?! haha. Kind of cool to see the Master getting frustrated with losses, so resorting to more desperate measures. Makes sense. Really good action for Dylan Kyle, who doesn't seem to have lost a beat. I liked the interaction with Cruz there, and for a moment I really thought Cruz was going to cost Kyle the match and The Master was going to get his first victory. The post match challenge was done nicely. Looking forward to seeing Jay Cruz's first match. Hopefully DanielsonTHAGOAT hasn't disappeared on us.

A Meeting in Shadows - Lmao @ Kaiser's description of Miller. Hilarious. The shadows bit was rather bizarre. Not sure Miller needs to add a mysterious approach to his character when he's already added the vicious streak; don't want to venture into "brooding darkness" territory, that rarely works out well. But I did like the hint that Miller could potentially be the next challenger for Kaiser. Adds a new element to them teaming together and the storyline for the main event.

Society of Suck - Ha, I didn't know this was going to be the title of the segment. Anyway, this stuff with Magnum was basically all filler after him beating Buck last week. What will Magnum be doing at Resurgence? Well, you'll have to wait and find out! But, I definitely did take some small pleasure in writing the squash of JLO... haha.

Cream of the Crap III - Lmao @ master and Sato entering the Phoenix Fray. That should be a hoot. Ace is quite a bizarre dude.

Main Even - I just realized, it seems like we've been seeing rather little of Kaiser and Daz lately, which is odd considering they're probably the two biggest stars in the fed, haha. But nonetheless, this main event should be great.

I see Daz has stolen the LOGAN LYRIC LOGO idea :P The more the merrier! I dig the dissension between Miller and Kaiser to start things off, fun way to get us rolling. Odd to me that Miller would be the one to avoid Daz here. I think after the feud they've had so far, Miller would be eager to prove himself, while Kaiser would be more likely to want to avoid Foster. Minor quip though. Great action between Kaiser and Daz, they work quite well together. As the match is progressing here, I definitely like the story building with Daz and Miller, Miller getting in his head at every opportunity. Glad that the story isn't that Miller is afraid to Daz, but is rather picking his spots. Love the double crossbody spot, and the fact that Kaiser and Daz are STILL being portrayed as total equals. Makes them both look amazing.

The end of the match was great. Miller leaving set Daz up to leave the ring and fall into Miller's clutches, and it allowed Foster the opportunity to get a pinfall on the champion. Huge moment there for Foster. Unfortunately for him, it probably means he's losing the match at Resurgence, but that was a hell of a moment, and the announcers sold it perfectly.

End of the Road - Absolutely vicious assault by Cavanah. "Here's to another 8 years!" Brutal, yet awesome. Amazing close to the segment too. At first, the numerous chair shots and Foster getting back up seemed a little sily, but the way it culminated with the fans chanting, and Foster saying "Miller and you didn't understand, but THEY do" that was freaking awesome. Epic way to end the show, and after that beat down it's really hard to predict who's going to walk away champion. Can't wait for that encounter.

Awesome show guys, I think everything is set up really well for the PPV. Here are a few of my big winners for this show:

1. Nick Foster. Dude just looks like an absolute badass right now. Whether or not he beats Cavanah at the PPV, he's coming away looking like a bona fide superstar and it's fantastic.

2. Comeaus/J-Team. Fun feud that isn't getting much attention but has been a good read and will likely produce an entertaining match at the PPV.

3. Kaiser Cavanah. He hasn't been as much of a focus on recent shows, but that final segment sent a huge message. There's a reason this guy is the champion, and why he has a right to be considered the very best PCW has to offer. Tremendous stuff.

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 10 RESULTS!

Postby KaiserGlider » May 14, '14, 4:47 pm

Phoenix Fray - I spent some time trying to think of a name for this battle royal, finally settled on "Pheonix Fray" cause I couldn't think of anything better. Anyway, the idea behind this is to give all these new guys something to do at Resurgence, without booking matches like Reece vs Orion because that feud just started and it wouldn't be good to rush the match. All 3 of these guys cut a solid promo here, good job hyping the match.

Disciples vs NRC/Spartan - Sucks that the Kid Spartan/NRC promo is late, because essentially now Kid Spartan hasn't cut a promo in PCW, so it's hard to really get invested in him in his feud with Hess. We'll give him a promo on the Resurgence pre-show, hopefully that gets in so we can see some more of what Spartan is about. The match however showcased all these guys really well, courtesy of Daz. Really solid action here, but once the Field Plow came, it was all over. There was no way the Disciples should lose when all 3 of them are united, and you have to wonder if all 3 of them will stand tall at Resurgence.

Road to Resurgence: Foster - This was done really well, Prophet blew me away. The biggest story for Foster vs Kaiser is that this is Foster's first ever world title singles match, and how Foster has spent 8 years going through all kinds of stuff before getting to Resurgence. So it was nice to see a recap of Foster's career as told through his point of view. The interviewer asking Foster is he wants to keep going at one moment was a great way to really push this thing to a level where you can connect with it personally. Foster is really a guy you can get behind. All in all, I'd say this is in the top 3 promos in PCW so far.

Man to Real Man - This segment was HardcoreLegend's idea, btw. So just a heads up, if you got a pitch for what your character could do on the next show, you know who to call. Favorite part of this segment was Johnny V getting frustrated, referencing his relationship with Gia put under a microscope, running his hands through his hair to calm himself. And then showing restraint because he knows he'll get his chance at Resurgence. I think that was really well done. Zaid realizing for the first time that maybe he isn't inside Johnny V's head was an interesting way to make this confrontation get physical, and bring out the ruthless side of Zaid. The segment ending with Zaid thinking he's inside the head of Johnny V was a nice way to end it. Overall, good job guys. Zaid/Johnny V at Resurgence is sure to be a good match. They're going to get physical, physical!

Omega vs Ace - This match exceeded my expectations. Ace especially has impressed me on this show. I was worried that he could get lost in the shuffle somewhere in the midcard, but as Tim points out he's done a great job of getting his character across in matches. The only criticism I had with this match was Omega's commentary. I would have liked for him to spend more time talking about the Gryphon/Andrew match at Resurgence, hype Gryphon up, etc. Since Omega was on guest commentary for that purpose.

Next In Line - Fun segment. I'm starting to dig the J-Team, and the Comeau Brothers are always cool.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place - Man, Andrew tore the fans a new one here, haha. Wasn't expecting him to go into such a dick mode. I really like Andrew's comments about Omega, great stuff here Tim. Earlier I said Foster's promo might be in the PCW top 3, but I could see this one making its way into the PCW top 5. I wasn't really digging Gryphon's "french accent" promos before, but I see that HFX has taken the criticisms and toned it down a bit, so now he does it just right (making Gryphon's promos stand out but not overdoing the Frenchness). The end of the segment was done well. Gryphon really asserting himself as the bigger man (literally) in his partnership with Omega. I was afraid that this feud wasn't going to get built enough in only 2 Onslaughts before Resurgence, but I think we've hit all the right notes and established the story that needed to be established. Looking forward to this match for sure.

The Zanneti promo was interesting for sure. I was kinda lukewarm to having Stratusfied in PCW, but he's really impressed me with both his writing and his enthusiasm for the fed. I'm glad he's part of our crew now, and I think he has a really bright future ahead of him. Looking forward to seeing more of the Zanneti family. Oh, and this segment demonstrated an excellent use of graphics. It seems more and more people are picking up on using graphics to enhance their stuff, which is great. Definitely one of the benefits to writing stuff on Word.

Kyle vs The Master - Well, this was a foregone conclusion, haha. I think that if PCW was a real fed, some people would complain about our frequent use of squash matches, but since we have a relatively small roster, we want to keep wrestlers from facing each other as often as possible, so there's no choice sometimes but to have squash matches that give people the opportunity to showcase their character or hype their current feud.

First Test - A real shame that DanielsonTHAtGOAT disappeared. I had high hopes for Jay Cruz and his feud with Dylan Kyle, which would probably have gone on past Resurgence. However at this point it looks like Dylan will get the win no questions asked, which is fine by me since Stratusfied has been pretty good lately.

Meeting in Shadows - Interesting segment to have for sure. The first ever confrontation of Kaiser and Miller in PCW. It served to set up the finish of the main event later on.

Society of Suck/Magnum vs JLO: Tim sent this in with "insert title here" for the title, and after putting my thinking cap on, I thought Society of Suck would be a fun title considering Magnum is pretty much in a feud with SOS right now and has been knocking out almost all their guys. I laughed at JLO botching the hometown pop line, haha. Considering that Tim only wrote this a day or two before he left for Europe and it wasn't suppose to be much of anything, he did a good job with it and it turned into a pretty entertaining segment and squash match.

Cream of the Crap - I guess it would have been kinda strange for only 4 guys to be in a "battle royal", so having Master and Sato bring up the number of competitors to 6 makes it seem more like a battle royal or fray. Ace did a fine job with his part.

Main Event - I know some people weren't happy with the way this match turned out. Personally I thought it accomplished what it needed to, building the Daz/Miller and Foster/Kaiser stories appropriately. And at the end of the day, that's the important thing.

End of the Road - I really tried to bring my A-game for this segment and give one big final push to Foster/Kaiser and try to make it the match people look forward to the most. Glad Prophet was satisfied with what I wrote.

Next stop, Resurgence pre-show, and then the big daddy itself.

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 10 RESULTS!

Postby prophet » May 15, '14, 10:03 am

Got my comments up for the last show so I'll move on to the latest show. Best to do it before I head off to Barcelona for the weekend so here we go...

Pheonix Fray - Onslaught STARRING Orion Bishop eh? Who does this guy think he is? I don't think I like this person - already we have a reason to invest in (and hate) the new and improved Orion Bishop. So is this match a product of Bishop's imagination as a way to make some easy money or was he instructed to inform people of the match? I think there was a teasing of a match between Bishop and Reece somewhere down the line but I'm glad we're waiting before rushing into that, it would've seemed rushed if it was added to Resurgence. Battle Royale's are fun to read. Sears continuing to be somewhat of an enigma and already we have 3 people in this match you could easily see winning.

The Disciples vs NRC and Kid Spartan - Kid Spartan wasn't on the last show and hasn't spoken yet so it's tough to care much about him. I vaguely remember he had some interaction with Amos Hess but I don't know nearly enough to understand why he's on the opposing team so I think the commentators could've done a quick recap for us during the entrances or something. "Thou shalt not doubt Amos Hess!" - lmao Knight and Barry are well and truly devoted to their fearless leader, it's actually kind of scary. Solid action through-out, the fast pace in the early going set the tone and I wasn't surprised to see the Field Plow end it. NRC just took a pinfall clean less than a week before defending the gold, will that be taken into account at the PPV? We know they're not as disciplined as their opponents, it may cost them.

Road to Resurgence: Nick Foster - High praise indeed, Kaiser. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with this but I'm happy with how it turned out. I'm the first to doubt my promo game. Felt good to get nostalgic.

Man to Real-Man - LOOOOOL Zaid comparing the Springfieldians to their namesakes in The Simpsons was genius, funny shit. $5 spray tan lmao Zaid is hilarious when he's on fire like he is this week. Valentino FINALLY showing some restraint was good to see, could that be the catalyst that compels Gia to come back to him? I think this was one of the better segments you two have produced in this feud, the psychological momentum may have just swayed into Valentino's court for the very first time. LOVED Zaid having the smile wiped off his face for the first time (even if it did return later) and being the one to snap on Johnny V. You're really set the tone for this one chaps, great job. Word of advice though, you're having a Street Fight sure but try not to go overboard on the sheer violence. It's unrealistic to have two people completely brutalize each other with weapons at such an intense, fast-pace for 20+ minutes. If you discuss the match beforehand and moderate the violence you'll wind up with a much better, much more organic outcome. Just my opinion though.

Gryphon/Ace - Good match, well written. Showcased Ace's personality once more. Gryphon showing he may have a bit of a temper was telling, maybe it'll be his downfall? A trait like that is all someone cunning like an Andrew Logan needs to exploit in order to gain the upperhand. "Anthony Carriere sucks eggs" line was random, I get why obviously SKS included it and all but meh..probably best to leave that out. (Why did SKS do the commentary for this btw?) Good sequence of big moves to finish the match and that's all she wrote. Will Gryphon have enough for someone like Logan though? I'm not so sure.

Next in Line - Fun little segment. The abundance of one-line dialogue hurt my eyes haha.

Between a rock and a hard place - I thought having the commentator note that the sheer hatred and abuse directed at the Logan's must surely effect them in some way. "As twisted as these people are, they're still people" was a great little line. On the last show I commented that a lot of the stuff involving Logan was a bit weird and I stand by it, it was. This week doesn't seem to be an issue though. Alexa doing the talking until finally Andrew told the people to kiss his ass was awesome. For the record, Andrew hardly manipulated Gryphon into a match at all - Gryphon randomly came out and set the ball rolling himself. Really interesting argument as to why Logan considers Omega a hypocrite, good stuff.

Ah here we are - "of course, it being the one time he's made a decision for himself so far here in PCW, Omega threw a hissy fit about it" that's the bit of dialogue that ties everything together so I'm happy this was said. Honestly I think Logan has made some pretty valid points about Omega being selfish and it being him that's doing the manipulating. Can anyone argue otherwise? Gaah Omega's role in this whole feud has been proper strange in my eyes. Logan made some good points and rather than come out and defend himself and rubbish Logan's accusations he instead chose to try attack him? That's pretty weird, it almost felt like the guilty defendant was trying to shut the prosecution up before he could finish his argument.

Gryphon continuing to show how green he is but I like that, it's a good way to endear him as both a babyface and an innocent in this whole debacle. Pretty strange that Gryphon raised his voice and Omega just upped and left. I don't know...Tim and HFX are both great writers and it's probably just me but I think this feud is a little weird.

The Zanetti Family - Mafia rip-off? :D

Kyle/Master, First Test - Good outing for Kyle ahead of the PPV, allows Stratusfied to shake off the ring-rust. I hope you don't mind but there's really not much I can say about Kyle or the feud he's in now that Danielson has gone AWOL. It's the problem I've had critiquing Magnum Phillips' stuff lately - I know you're going to win in the end so it's hard to get invested in it.

Meeting in the Shadows - LMAO I know Miller is the 'Assassin' and what not but having him emerge from the shadows down a dark corridor was hilarious. Yeah I'd agree with Tim - Miller has the cold, viscous side to him. Having him be mysterious and live in the shadows borders on the type of theatrics that take away from his realism. Seems like they're on the same page...for now.

Society of Suck - Magnum/JLO - GOAT SEGMENT LMFAO. JLO gyrating whilst pointing to his crotch is the most I've laughed at a sim fed ever. Complete and utter burial of an absolute headcase and I loved every second, fucking hilarious.

Cream of the Crap III - More comedy gold from The Master. Not sure Ace should be too concerned about being associated with these two jobbers, he'll surpass them both soon enough.

Foster/Daz vs Kaiser/Miller - Big ass main event, had fun writing it. In an ideal, no page-limit world I think we could revisit this and I'd have preferred it if I had the time to write a bit more on Daz and Foster's teamwork - the two are friends and would likely have good chemistry in a team together and the philosophy of the match didn't really get around to reflecting this. Miller didn't really get involved at all which will suit him just fine heading into the PPV. Spencer abandoning Kaiser - was this just to keep himself out of harms way and fresh for his match with Daz or is this a clever use of foreshadowing? Time will tell. Felt good to pin the champ though oooo yeaaah.

End of the Road - Left Kaiser to handle this one as we'd already covered the main event. Thought it was done really well as all Cavanah promos are, expertly written and you captured Foster's heart pefectly. LOVED the dialogue you wrote. "You don't understand...but THEY do". I'm happy that people consider our match at Resurgence tough to call, I'd like to think that means we've done our jobs right.

------------

Top show people, looking forward to the PPV!

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 10 RESULTS!

SKS wrote the commentary because by the time I got the match back it was pretty overdue and SKS volunteered to help me. I am VERY slow and shitty at commentary, I usually just get my co-writers to do it so it's done properly, so I accepted because I just wanted the show to go up.

As for the Omega leaving thing it had more to do with being lifted damn near 7 feet into the air and thrown and held in a corner by his 6'5" protege than it did with being yelled at. He's a smart man and knew when to back down and did so, especially since he didn't want to instigate a fight with Gryphon as well as give Andrew more ammo.

Andrew lashing out at Gryphon(Tim) was more about him being angry in the heat of the moment and lashing out at a different non-Omega target. Wouldn't be the first time in history someone lashes out at someone undeserving and says something they may regret in the heat of the moment. Andrew is young, supposedly human and was angry and said some things he wouldn't have normally said. At least that's what I was going for.

And yes I took all the criticism to heart about Gryphon's speech pattern. I've been tweaking it since the first time he appeared and I think I found a good solution. As long as you guys read what he says as if GSP is saying it.

Yeah I think Omega also wouldn't be very likely to try to match words with Andrew because:

1) He hates Andrew's guts and just wants to kick his ass
2) He's not really a man of words anyway, and probably feels that he doesn't have to justify himself.

Just a couple of thoughts from me this week...

The Phoenix Fray- I actually love this name, so fitting for a match with a few competitors in it, especially a battle royal situation. As always, a tricky match to write, but looking how well this segment was put together, I'm sure it will be decent. Not only will this match serve as a way of getting people booked, but hopefully it will be the set up to some decent feuds.

Road to Resurgence- this was something lifted straight off TV, I'm sure. You could just imagine the whole package being put together the way it was.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place- it looks as if Alexa has her "manager hat" on in this situation, trying to control the interview... Only for Andrew to go above her. Is this maybe a hint that they aren't as close it you may think? And so soon?!

The Zanetti Family- something a bit different, seemed more like a scene from a gangster flick than a wrestling promo... But it worked! Valentino's background is mafia related and I had actually toyed with the idea of introducing some family later down the line. Would be interesting to see if the Zanetti family and the Valentino family have ever crossed paths.

Society of Suck- what a name for a segment!! Magnum Phillips is still one of my favourite characters. He's not a young gun with the great body and wads of cash to throw around, he just seems a lot more real. With the way Phillips is walking around with the defunct title, I wonder if it'll be made into some form of official championship?

On another note, I see a few characters that have the chance of becoming a little too similar to one another. Hopefully people see this as a chance to raise their game and maybe develop their characters a little further.

I'm really liking the new attitude of Orion Bishop. The Phoenix Fray is a good name for the battle royal. Good way to get a few more people on the PPV card without overcrowding without a lot of extra matches.

The feud between Valentino and Zaid continues to be very fun to read. I'm looking forward to reading what should be a very brutal street match at Resurgence.

Zanetti Family looks cool. Looking forward to their debut.

These Cream of the Crap segments are golden. I see an epic match coming between Saito and the Master. Or maybe not. Who knows?

Phoenix Fray – Like the highlighting of Bishop right off the bat. Along with the previous show, it’s made for a nice change of pace, having the lower tier guys kicking off the show as opposed to Kaiser or one of the Main Eventers. The last multi man match we had like this was Escalation and that ended up surprisingly well. Solid follow up with Reece interrupting and accepting the challenge. Sears, Jaden and the Canadian Express credit card … tremendous. I didn’t know they had that sort of money in Canada. I guess the world’s economy tanking has really helped the Canadians out.

The Disciples vs. Neo Runway Chic & Kid Spartan – Fun little match that helped build both matches at Resurgence. I will say, it was a pleasure to get the chance to write for and with Hess. He’s just a different sort of animal to tackle. Really liked the finish of this one as it broke down and the Disciples were able to take the advantage. I think in these circumstances, an established trio like the Disciples should never lose, and the duo of Barry and Knight needed a mental edge going into their tag title shot at Resurgence.

Road to Resurgence: Nick Foster – I love segments like this. Nice simple build to the PPV. The “Ecstasy of Gold” theme is the perfect way to underscore things and helps sell Foster’s desire to win the title. The talk of addiction was a nice little pay off … intentional or not … to the Daz promo a few shows ago. This just perfectly encompassed Foster’s career and journey to this point. You can’t help but rally behind him and want to see him take the title from Kaiser at Resurgence. Nick has upped his game beyond belief since PCW started and he deserves the pay off at the PPV.

Man to Real-Man – Zaid is still entertaining as hell. The feud continues to escalate and I liked the contrast between this segment and the segment last week. Solid delivery and a nice way to leave things at the end, teasing the match at the PPV. Perfect go home segment really.

Gryphon Richard vs. Ace – This was a really good showcase for Gryphon and a chance to establish himself as more of a singles wrestler. Omega on commentary was fine and I got a chuckle out of the trending on twitter deal. Ace’s weird hulking up/losing his mind deal was nicely woven in. I liked Omega touching on Daz/Miller to keep that connection alive. Just a really solid back and forth, physical contest. I didn’t expect it to be so competitive but I was pleasantly surprised. Good stuff.

Next in Line – Some nice interplay between these two teams. I really enjoy all the Comeau’s little references and the J-Team’s little digs in reply provided a solid counterpoint. I like that with all the serious stuff we’ve got going on, we have this sort of thing to break it up a bit and provide a little bit of levity.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place – The Logan’s attempts to rewrite their history not going over so well, as the old personality traits come to the forefront. I’m really liking where this is going. The dynamic between the siblings without daddy there to play peace keeper is really working for me, and I enjoyed the route you went down, with Alexa trying to present a more diplomatic public front whilst Andrew’s temper gets the better of him. I liked the subtle manipulation on Andrew Logan’s part, deriding Omega for doing the very thing he was doing throughout the promo; coercing Gryphon Richard for his own ends. I liked the fact Gryphon separated Logan and Omega following the run in and called into question Omega’s thoughts on his former rivals, outside of the Logan’s. There’s a lot of good psychology going on throughout this feud and I question how things are gonna unfold from here.

Zanetti Family – I dug the way this was laid out, and the way it helped establish the gimmick of the Zanetti family, without overplaying the hand too earlier. It wasn’t your classic video introduction that went all dark and had the melodramatic voice over and whatnot. It just gave a tease that the Zanetti family is coming, and in that respect, this really worked for me.

Dylan Kyle vs. The Master/First Test – Decent little match. Perhaps a little too competitive than it needed to be, but it was good to get reacquainted with the character’s moveset and I’m sure it was good for Stratusfied to flex that match writing muscle once again. Jay Cruz coming down to stalk Dylan Kyle sets the stage for their rivalry. With Danielson gone, I would assume this one is really over before it even had the chance to begin, which is a shame really. Regardless, decent re-introduction for Kyle and I look forward to seeing what he brings to the table.

A Meeting in Shadows – I love how obnoxious Kaiser is. “Who do I have to squash to get some help around here?” … tremendous. Loved the exchange here, especially Kaiser’s ripping on the British. It has to be said, I do love me a nice cup of tea. “Kaiser instinctively stiffens” … did JLO write this? Underlying tension between these two team mates worked nicely as we know Foster and Daz will be on the same page, thanks to their little bromance segments since PCW began.

Society of Suck – Quite frankly, I lost my shit when I saw the BEEPS. Dear Christ did that bring back some memories. The description of Outland was absolutely spot on, quite a gut indeed. I literally cannot stop laughing to myself at the promo. You have no idea how many of his capitalizations and punctuation marks I have had to delete over the years. Oh that was so very good. Daz should have come out afterwards and given JLO a Dazaster Driver for old times’ sake.

Cream of the Crap III – I love these weird self-aware segments. This little storyline has really been an odd sort of highlight week to week, so much so I almost find myself rooting for one of them to pick up a victory.

Main Event – Really liked the storytelling with this. We wanted to keep Miller and Daz apart and have Miller continue to play head games with him. This whole feud has really been about taking Daz out of his comfort zone, coming off of the Kaiser feud. In PCW, I’ve tried to make Daz more aggressive in his in ring style and I think it’s showed here. This really picked up when Daz made the tag to Foster and I loved Nick’s urgency to get the pinfall over Kaiser, gaining a mental edge heading into Resurgence. The finish played nicely off the earlier promo which topped off a really well told story.

End of the Road – Loved this. Foster never seems to have it easy. Kaiser’s promo was gold, really setting the stage for Resurgence. Loved the “Here’s to another 8 years,” line. The hard sell with commentary lines like “Kaiser Cavanah may be the most dangerous world champion we’ve ever seen. He outsmarted the entire roster at Escalation, defeated a Hall-of-Famer at Oblivion, but Foster has just as much momentum behind him. Something’s gotta give at Resurgence…” only added to things. Foster refusing to stay down was the perfect heroic conclusion to this show. I cannot wait for this match.
