Is Jerry Lawler heel?

I was watching Styles/Axel and as someone who doesn't watch SmackDown, has Lawler been heeling it up like he did in that match frequently? For those that are curious:



Read some of the comments and apparently he has taken the heel approach since SmackDown moved to USA.

Yeah, he's been transitioning for a while now, I don't like the heel commentary style they use now because it's hard to know for sure, because they are so vague about their descriptions of things, but basically he's a heel now.

He's heel-adjace.

From what I've seen he tends to lean heel but he's not full on ripping people like the 90's.

Yeah, he seems to be heel now. I think it's just part of the change up to the Smackdown commentary team. Also while I still don't like him all that much, it seems like he's actually trying a little for the first time in about a decade now. Which is nice.
