There is another potential spoiler in the link as well, so click at your own risk if you choose to.

Apparently the Sasha Banks babyface turn is likely to happen and they'll start using the "We want Sasha" chants as part of the storyline. Brie Bella mocking it may have part of the plan to help get it over even more.

I mean, I'm sure she will make it work because she is that damn good and the fans love her, but Sasha Banks just isn't meant to be a face. Everything about her screams heel. Plus it just seems too soon. Yea she's been heel on NXT for awhile, but she just debuted in the WWE. There is still a lot for her to do as a heel and I'd much rather heel Banks vs face Charlotte than just about any other potential challenger vs Charlotte match.

Her character is better suited as a heel. The problem is she's too damn good and people don't want to boo her because of it. Might as well turn her face because she's certainly going to get cheered against pretty much every other Diva on the roster anyway.

WWE has to learn that sometimes you just have to go with things.

I was thinking that the finish of that match on Raw was probably a sign that WWE would be trying to get the "We Want Sasha" chants over. That's a really weird decision though. Because Sasha already has her own personalised chant - "Like A Boss". Which is also a freaking great chant. It would be like if after the "Suplex City" chants started for Brock Lesnar, the WWE tried to encourage people to chant "We Want Lesnar" instead. If the fans create something cool and organic that you can incorporate into your show, then go for it!

Also in order for the fans to chant "We Want Sasha", she'll probably need to be outside the ring watching people wrestle a lot, instead of just being in the ring wrestling herself. Which would be preferable.

As for her turning face, I see the logic behind it. Fans love her too much for her talent, and they respect what she did in her matches with Bayley. No other female wrestler on the main roster has accomplished anything like those matches recently, so fans are going to gravitate towards her. And while she plays a great heel, I don't think the roster has a great face for her to pair off with who could generate a babyface reaction against Sasha the way Bayley did.

I mean, Becky could play face to Sasha's heel and it could work great, but unfortunately Becky isn't being pushed on that level right now, and I'm not sure how they're going to treat Becky's character on the main roster anyway.Turning Sasha face might be the way to go, just for now. She can always turn again down the line.

^ As much as "We want Sasha" being a very limited chant (considering they need to bench her every week for it to even apply) they have to work with what they're being given. I don't think I've ever heard the Raw crowd chant "Like a Boss" but they seem to be very fond of the former. It doesn't have legs in the long term but if nothing else this firmly establishes her as a big deal. Even if they need to find another way to build upon that later this is a very firm statement of intent.

I think the only reason they haven't been chanting "Like A Boss" is because Sasha is getting very little ring time. In fact, that's the same reason that the "We Want Sasha" chant has been happening.

I don't know why the company feels the need to draw attention to the fans telling them - yet again - that they're not giving them what they want. If fans aren't getting enough Sasha and are forced to chant "We Want Sasha", I wouldn't try to get that chant over. I'd just give them more goddamn Sasha. :P
