When Cena loses his Championship: The Poll

Postby VaderBomb » Jul 23, '15, 10:16 pm

Once Cena loses the US championship does he stay in the mid card or end up back in the main event? I added a few possible outcomes to the poll. Vote and discuss!

Wins the WWE title against Seth Rollins at SS, leading the WWE into higher ratings for the boring fall season.

Ugh. I hate to say it, but is it even a remote possibility Cena won't win the title and go straight back into Cena main event mode?

What's annoying is Cena being in the mid-card and feuding with others has no only helped the main event scene, but its really given Cena a new lease of life aswell (or as much as his stale character can allow). Cena not dominating Raw and main eventing PPV's has been a breathe of fresh air, and its given me hope WWE can actually see a day when Cena isn't needed.

But obviously the ratings have spoken, and like most things in WWE, it was only a matter of time before they buckled before change could really take affect. I'm already preparing myself for Cena vs Sheamus for the WWE title onward from SummerSlam. Brace yourself.. :facepalm

I'd say he goes to the main event again, probably. Though I can't see him having many more title runs. I think they're realising that he doesn't have much left to give in that category.

Once they finally find their new guy (I don't think it can be Reigns anymore, and it's certainly not Bryan), then I reckon Cena will probably fall into a role somewhat like what Shawn Michaels held in the last few years in his career - always featured on pay per view, always given a major spot at Wrestlemania, but rarely in contention for the belt.

The midcard is doing wonders for him. Putting him back on top probably won't be nearly as interesting. But on the bright side, I don't think he's headed there for a while. I reckon he's going to hold the US Championship for a few more months. I almost wouldn't be surprised if he held it until Wrestlemania. The US title Open Challenge has been the highlight of Raw most weeks since Wrestlemania 31 and I think they want to keep going with that. If they wanted to free Cena up to contend for the main championship, he would have lost the US belt to Owens. That was the logical choice. Cena's going to keep the title for quite some time yet.
