Did I hear Michael Cole right?

Did he say Preston was an hour away from London?

EDIT. I just learned that there is a Preston nearer to London. I was unaware of that. However, that is not the Preston Wade is from.

Ok, Michael cole really needs to brush up on his geography. He also said Newcastle is about 3 hours away from London.

I laugh when he says "3 hours, just right up the road from here". 3 hours is not right up the road.

:lol Josh Matthews did similar when TNA went on their UK tour this year, he said Spud grew up "just up the road from London" or something like that. He did correct himself on the next show though so fair enough.

3 hours isn't that long of a road trip. Right up the road? Maybe not, but considering I've taken 11-12 hour road trips before 3 hours isn't anything.

It's just the fact that Newcastle being refered to as "up the road" from London is ridiculous.

I guess when you think about how big the USA is compared to the UK then it is kind of 'up the road' by their logic :lol

Cole was on fire Monday... he called a Shooting Star Press a moonsault, when Miz was making his entrance he said he couldn't remember anyone ever making a big deal out of their sunglasses before (Bret Hart anyone), then there was all three of them randomly taking sides in feuds that made no sense in terms of face/heel staus

A three hour car ride is nothing more than "up/down the road." Some people commute to work 2 hours to and 2 hours back on a daily basis.

As a man who commutes about 15 feet from my bed to my computer, that sounds like my personal hell.

For a much smaller country such as ours a 3 hour journey is pretty much travelling to the ends of the earth :lol

Yeah I get that. It's kind of strange in how we look at things differently. To me it's almost like every country in Europe is like a state in the US. So it's just a completely different view point.

I know my dad commutes to work every day 1:15-1:30 hours.

The longest time it has taken me to get home from work was one hour and that was on a very very bad traffic day. If I travel anywhere for three hours, I will feel so far away from home.

I never considered it that way before.. that's wild to me. I guess it really is due to the size difference of the country.

I know we take a trip to Tennessee every couple of years and it's about 13 hours away if drive it solid (only stopping to refuel). Though the drive is so long, I still don't get that feeling that I'm "terribly far from home." I don't get the "Mister Frodo, in one more step" syndrome.. :lol Now, when I visited France back in 2005, I felt like I was on a different PLANET.
