Don't forget he beats beating Xena Phobe in a mixed gender match, then supporting La Femme N. Nist win her bout with Big Show Vannist just to prove he's an all around great guy to everyone!

He says he's not racist or homophobic, NOT that he hasn't used racist or homophobic language or behavior. He's pretty much like a lot of folks i know, they say racist or homophobic stuff that should't be said, not because they are racist or homophobic, but just because they think its funny or "cool".

Anyway, glad he's gone. From what I'v heard and seen, he was pretty much of the old school mentality that you had to "break" new guys in, in often horrendous conditions.

Not being thought of as racist/homophobic is a privilege you give up when you use racist/homophobic slurs. Is it really that big of a surprise to him that people heard him using bigoted language, and then assumed that he was a bigot? If so, he has another problem as well - he's a fucking idiot.

Unfortunately I don't think it's quite that simple. Occasionally, a bigoted term gets over used in society to the point where it almost loses it's bigoted meaning and becomes its own descriptive word that isn't really designed to be all that bigoted to begin with.

You saw it a lot in the 90's where people would use words like queer, gay or fag and not really intend them to harmful or sexually centered. The words just became almost having a second meaning amongst a lot of people who have no ill will or bigoted feelings towards the gay community it just became part of the public vernacular. Now it can debated what kind of harm that did, but growing up in high school I know of plenty of people that would use words like that and a lot of them I would have never and still don't actually consider them bigots.

But when reasonable adults get called out on that kind of crap, they can own up, apologise, acknowledge the possibility of offense, or in some way explain themselves. Unsupported denial isn't an excuse; DeMott's a grown man, not a high school student; and this isn't the 90s.

If he really wants people to believe that he isn't a racist homophobe, he should submit a better (read: actual) argument.
