The reason WWE is keeping undertaker off tv

We noted last night that WWE is planning on keeping The Undertaker and Sheamus off TV until the WrestleMania 31 pay-per-view. There's a feeling that the idea behind keeping Taker off TV is that they want fans to wait, and to pay, to see The Undertaker's first appearance since losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX.

Pretty much what most people were already saying, it's almost exactly like WrestleMania XX in that regard but with nowhere near the same levels of anticipation.

BTW, hard to believe it's been 11 years since they brought back the Dead Man gimmick.

Truthfully if Taker is only appearing at Mania the gimmick he appears with doesn't matter, it's not like it will change the way he wrestles. As for the Sheamus thing, I hope if they do that then he doesn't have a match or anything, but instead have him interfere or something. I have no interest in a "surprise" Sheamus match. However, haven't they been running promos that say Sheamus will be back within the next week (either SD or Raw)?

It's not the same as Wrestlemania XX. He hadn't been off television for a full year. He hadn't been part time for several years. And people were looking forward to seeing him wrestle under his old gimmick again. Back then it felt natural enough to be excited about Undertaker appearing at Wrestlemania. Nowadays, what reason is there to be excited? If WWE want us to get excited about seeing Undertaker wrestle, they need to build a proper feud for him. His mere presence is not a draw anymore, particularly now that the streak is dead.

The real reason they're leaving him off television is probably just laziness. On both their part and Undertaker's. They don't have to do any actual booking, and he doesn't have to show up until the spotlight is shining brightest and the pay day is at its highest.

Hard to care at all really, the way they've gone about it.

Honestly, because of the sunlight I would LOVE to see biker taker.

The only way this can result in extra entertainment value is if they 'Becky Conner' it, and just cast a new Undertaker.

They can slot in... Baron Corbin? And see if people get upset.

If they show him riding through the arena to the stage people will lose their minds. Just don't start him at the stage entrance, build up the anticipation for people to see him in person .

I don't think this has anything to do with Undertaker only showing up when he's getting paid the most. The guys been there for 25 years, and from all sources sounds like a company man to the bone, if WWE wanted him to come to Raw a few times, I'm dead certain he would!....Get it? "Dead" certain, cause ya know, he's the deadman, i made a pun, get it?

I agree on the 2nd part however, the way WWE Have booked this is stupid. The promo's between Undertaker/Wyatt would have made for a better buyrate, not just keeping him off TV for a while.
