ADR Appearing At AAA's TripleMania iPPV This Sunday

AAA announcer Arturo Rivera tweeted on Monday that former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio will be appearing at the promotion’s Triplemania XXII event this Sunday.

When asked if he’ll be appearing as Alberto Del Rio or his former in-ring persona, Dos Caras Jr., Rivera replied, “Alberto Del Rio.”

Triplemania XXII will be airing on iPPV opposite SummerSlam.

This conflicts with reports that Alberto Del Rio having a 90-day no compete clause, but we’ll be covering this story here as it develops.

But wow, I thought he had a 90 day no compete clause...guess not. :S

If he got fired instead of released/let go then it might cancel out the whole contract and clause. Or maybe Mexico has different laws than America for these things? I dunno I ain't a lawyer.

Good question, I'm not sure. I suppose it's possible it's just for American promotions.

However you never know maybe WWE might sue him for breach of contract. We will see sooner or later

People on reddit are saying that the 90 day clause is that they'll pay you your salary for three months to keep you from appearing for competitors. If you work a televised show/ppv then you forfeit the 3 months pay. Del Rio is rich and was a huge star in Mexico. He probably can make as much money from working in AAA right now so he probably doesn't care about the payout and just wants to work where he'll be happy and respected. Especially since he was rumored to be unhappy the last year and just want out.
