I wonder what he did. The guy did appear to have a bit of a temper. He definitely seemed to be taking a few liberties with Sin Cara in a couple of their matches in the past.

It didn't feel like he was ever going to become that big a star in the company, so maybe it's not that big a loss. But they have been protecting him even when he's not in a major story. He's always been portrayed as a serious threat on Raw. It was clear they still wanted to make him a success. They'll be sorry that it had to come to this.

If this is the last we see of him in WWE, in a few years he'll probably seem like one of the oddest former WWE champions in the company's history.

If he stays a wrestler he'll head back to Mexico(most likely CMLL so he doesn't have to deal with original Mistico) where he will go back to being a big star and he'll make a lot of money while doing so. And if he wanted to stay in America he would be smarter to sign with ROH and work dates in Mexico and Japan like AJ Styles.

Well that was Randy Orton. There's a big difference between Orton and Del Rio. Particularly Orton back then, when he was newer and more over.

But yeah, if he's going to stay wrestling he'll probably do so in Mexico. Which would be for the best, I reckon. American audiences never took a shine to him.

Fucked up, right? You have to wonder what WWE were smoking putting the main title on some of these guys. When you look at the illustrious group of people who have won the title (still only about 40), Del Rio and the Miz lift right out.

^^ If that's what happened, then I can understand his reaction. Anyone who throws around racist insults deserves a slap. Obviously we can't know if that's what happened, but if so then I'm not sad that the guy got what he had coming to him.

Though I think WWE had every reason to fire Del Rio either way. The wrestlers in the company are all physically intimidating and would be dangerous in a fight. They have to set an example to their employees that once they're off camera, disputes can't actually be solved with violence. Just like in any other work place.
