Daniel Bryan Injured?

Postby Georgerv » May 12, '14, 5:37 pm

Apparently he has a neck injury and could be out for several weeks, man his title reign is cursed, between his father, this injury and being lumped with Kane I'm starting to really really feel bad for the guy

I have a horrible feeling he's going to have to surrender the title tonight and lose all of his momentum. This is the worst possible news, I literally have no reason to tune in every week now. The Shield can't carry a 3-hour show on their own. :(

For what it's worth, just read online that it's a minimally invasive procedure on his neck. He'll be out of action for a few weeks but could be back in time for Payback. Could have been a lot worse if it's true.

This is awful news either way. Hopefully he isn't gone too long but he'd be better off not rushing back and risking further injury.

I fear he'll have the belts taken off him at this rate.

It's pretty sucky news. This has been an awfully unlucky title reign for him. It's been a crazy ride for him the last few months, between main eventing Wrestlemania, getting married, his Dad dying and now neck surgery. He must be exhausted and overwhelmed at this point. He could probably do with the time off - it's just sad it's not happening under nicer circumstances.

The bright side is that this won't really change the quality of the show. Due to a mix of bad luck (see above) and terrible WWE booking, Bryan's title reign has added almost nothing to the product since he won it at Wrestlemania. It's sad but true. He's been off television a lot, even when on television he's not been main eventing Raw and the feud with Kane has been uninteresting at best and downright terrible at worst.

The Shield v Evolution and to a lesser extent Bray Wyatt have been the major draws on television recently, so Bryan's departure won't make as much of a difference as it might have done. It'll be interesting to see whether the championship is vacated though. If he's not going to be out for long, they might just spin their wheels on that one. I'm guessing they'll announce it next week after they see how his surgery goes.

Punk was able to keep the title after knee surgery, so I think they will do the same with Bryan on this one.

I do think that with all the buildup to this win, Bryan has not had the best luck since winning the title.

That so true so many wrestlers like Cena rush back just for the fans and risk possible injuries because they rush back just hope he smart enough not to rush back.

To be fair, Bryan has been doing much more for me than Wyatt since Mania. His absence (if lengthy) will massively affect the WWE. Besides CESARO and The Shield, Bryan is the main reason why I continue to tune in. His championship reign just started. He's only defended his championship at one event, so it's unfair to negatively criticize his reign, especially considering all of the obstacles that have been put in front of him.

^^ I'm not criticizing him at all. As I said, bad luck has played a huge role. But I don't think it's unfair to say that he really hasn't been particularly entertaining on Raw since winning the title. I've watched some of Raw since Wrestlemania, and his stuff has been pretty uninteresting for the most part and some of the Kane stuff has been quite bad. He's not been competing in the most talked about matches or segments either.

It's still a bummer that he's gone, because they should have been using him in some big feuds over the next few weeks due to his popularity and his momentum. Hopefully he'll still have plenty of both by the time he returns.
