He's never really ignored his hate. Neither has WWE. What they all ignore is the reasons people hate him, because then they might have to admit that they're doing something wrong.

This just makes him come off as more smug and insufferable than ever. The references to how much people hate him is part of what makes him so irksome as a character.

I'm referring to when the fans turned on him around 05-06 (the NYR PPV EC match where he got booed, the one Edge cashed in) and around that time when he got the boos but it never was accepted or acknowledged by the commentary, or Cena himself besides the odd look.

That was actually around when they started acknowledging it, always referring to him as a "controversial" champion and that he wasn't "traditional." Not as much obvious acknowledgement as you would see later on but they were aware. They couldn't ignore it much longer.

I love that shirt. It would be my favorite Cena shirt since his 8-bit shirt from 2008 I think.
