Yeah, one place you won't find much support and loyalty during a pandemic is WWE judging by the releases. Profits galore!

There are many reasons for all 85 of them but interestingly, the recent ones seem to have been allies of Triple H who Vince has fired (Regal being one of them) whilst his son in law has been out of action recovering from that heart scare. I don't know the background but is HHH's - who has always been seen as the guy to take over from Vince - place in jeopardy?

Triple H's current spot in WWE, or lack thereof, is absolutely mind-boggling. NXT was his baby. 2 years ago it nearly won Survivor Series against both Raw and Smackdown. Now the show has been completely repackaged and most of its former champions are either released, in AEW, doing nothing on the main roster, or were given a different name or gimmick. There was a notable lack of NXT 2.0 talent in both of the Royal Rumble matches.

Rumor had it that when NXT failed to beat AEW in the Wednesday night head-to-head ratings, the heat fell on Triple H. Then they started phasing out all his influence on the program and rebranding it. Shortly thereafter, WWE announced that Triple H had a "cardiac event" and underwent surgery. He hasn't made appearances or given interviews in a long time.

By all accounts it seems that Nick Khan is Vince's #2 guy now. He's spearheaded a lot of the profit-driven changes in the company, including these releases.

It's unclear what the future holds for Triple H, but it does look like his power has been greatly diminished. People were-half joking that he should show up in AEW, despite that being a hell-freezes-over kind of scenario.
