So for the past 2 months i was thinking maybe WWE had an ace up their sleeve when it came to what they would do with the Raw and Smackdown women's title matches coming WrestleMania. Back in January, the most obvious way forward would be Becky/Ronda for the Raw Women's title as this was the hottest feud going back then, and allow Charlotte to challenge Asuka in a WrestleMania rematch in which Asuka can get her win back, and also solidify herself on the main roster after so many start/stop pushes.
So they they add Charlotte to the Becky/Ronda situation, and i can't understand how or why they went that way. First off, by WWE''s own rules Charlotte, a Smackdown member, should't be challenge for a Raw title. Secondly, they took the hottest angle in WWE between Becky and Ronda, and added a third player that's only diluted the feud and seen it lost momentum.
Add to that Asuka is left without any viable competition come WrestleMania. There's not one single wrestle on Smackdown who looks credible to face her, and it looks like were gonna get a very thrown together Triple Threat with Deville and Rose, or a multi-woman match that WWE have been trying to get away from for years.
I can't understand it. How do we go from two potential show stealing programmes and matches in Ronda/Becky and Asuka/Charlotte, to a completely underwhelming 3 way and a throwaway Smackdown Women's match.
If WWE spent half the time they do promoting a women's evolution on actually booking it, maybe they wouldn't have to keep shoving it down our throats so much.
