Bryan vs Brock

Postby VaderBomb » Nov 20, '18, 11:26 am

Anybody else love this match? Bryan lost but looked very strong against the Beast Incarnate and going for almost 20 minutes was surprising. I've been very critical of Lesnar for the past few years but this was different. Bryan kicked his ass for a decent portion of the match and despite the finish not being exactly what I wanted to see, this is clearly leading to another encounter. Bryan will beat Lesnar in 2019.

There's 100% no reason for this sort of optimism.

It was a good match, although the story arc that they were taking by the time they had this match was crystal clear and had already soured me on the whole thing. I really don't understand the point of what they did at all, in almost any match.

As for a re-match, I highly doubt it. And Bryan beating Brock in said re-match, to quote Vince McMahon's song, "there's no chance, no chance in hell."

I didn't watch the match, but it sounded literally no different than Styles v Lesnar last year. Or really any of the Reigns/Lesnar matches, where Lesnar dominates early but then Reigns goes on a tear that makes you think he might win.

It's just hard for me to get excited for WWE's formula for matches nowadays, which is a shame considering how talented the roster is. Every match tends to follow the same format though, either that or the story is dull. If I were to rank the top 20 matches in NXT of the last 2-3 years, I'd be willing to bet that the 20th match on that list is something I prefer over the 1st on WWE's list. It blows my mind that NXT is a part of the WWE.
