Saudi Arabia to host WWE event with 50-man Royal Rumble and 7 title matches

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA and STAMFORD, Conn. — Following an agreement between His Excellency Turki Al Sheikh and WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia invites the world to the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. AST to celebrate the Greatest Royal Rumble event in WWE history. Tickets will be available Saturday, March 31, and this historic event will feature seven championship matches, including the WWE Championship, Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship, United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Championship, SmackDown Tag Team Championship and Cruiserweight Championship.

In addition to the seven championship matches, the event will also include the first-ever 50-Man Greatest Royal Rumble Match.

Fans will get to see WWE Superstars John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Braun Strowman, The New Day, Randy Orton, and Bray Wyatt, among others. Additional ticket details and broadcast information will be available in the coming weeks.

There's been rumors that this will be on the Network, and that WWE must have been paid a lot of money to produce an event this big so soon after 'Mania. Also note the lack of women's matches, as this does take place in Saudi Arabia.

Oh man, I feel like they're definitely going to do that. He finally gets his Rumble win, but they don't have to put him in a Wrestlemania title match. It's (sadly) perfect. At least he might make those Rumble stats video every year for all eternity though.

The 50 man Rumble at a weird time of year is kinda an exciting concept. But a lot of 30 man Rumbles are boring and filled with jobbers. They'll really have to pull out all the stops to make this match work.

Gotta say not at all interested in this show, even if they put it on the Network. It's not The Royal Rumble, it's not WrestleMania. It's an event on par with that Tokyo event they did a year or so ago. I struggle enough to enjoy a Rumble without feeling it drags at an hour, this thing will likely be two hours long, plus all the title matches.
