So if Brock loses the title, which by all the recent speculation around a UFC return and Jon Jones calling him out last weekend, suggests that he will then he leaves the WWE.

Braun wins the strap by pinning Joe and Lesnar goes for a UFC sojourn before returning at Mania next year? If they wanted to do Reigns v Brock II at Mania with the latter the champion, he'd have to win the title again. I can't imagine fans getting behind Reigns if he's champion heading into Mania defending v Brock.

Brock still has to serve out his USADA suspension so he wouldn't be able to fight again until July 2018 at the earliest. I'd say he probably wants time off now so he can get himself off whatever he's currently on (because he's definitely on something) before he re-enters the USADA doping pool.
