Postby Everlong » Jan 24, '16, 10:01 pm

Two of the last three winners were at least 45 years old. Batista (was 45) and Triple H (is 46).

Let's just pretend Daniel Bryan won the 2014 edition.

Not since Edge winning have i actually been happy with the result of who's won the Royal Rumble.

Del Rio, Sheamus, Cena, Batista and Reigns. Its hard to actually pick which of the past 5 was the worst one. Atleast the guy that won last night was someone the fans still care about, can wrestle, is as relavent as can be in todays WWE, and will actually put someone over at WrestleMania.

I disagree. If forced to pick, I'd say Del Rio. He won what is technically the biggest Royal Rumble ever, never got over, never has been over, and has never really been another than a bland stain on the tights of WWE. By winning, he also became Edge's last rivalry, and that just sucks for a guy like Edge who got to feud with so many legends in his time, only to have his last feud and career end be with the black hole of charisma. I literally can't think of ONE positive about Del Rio winning that Royal Rumble.

Batista on the other hand, once heel, had a nice little run to WrestleMania, and he legitimately put Bryan over. I actually think the Bryan story could't have been booked any better by WWE if they had tried, its almost like they KNEW Batista winning was best for Bryan....but then i don't think WWE are half that smart!

You have a point. I think Batista was the worst one at the time though. But when we look back 20 years from now, Del Rio will be the one where we think "this fucker won a Royal Rumble?"

If we are going in the moment it's Batista. If we are going on historical perspective I think ADR and Sheamus will most likely run a neck and neck race.
