Anyone else actually enjoying John Cena lately?

I'm by no means a Cena fan and find him nauseating most of the time, but I've found him to be one of the highlights of the show since Wrestlemania and have mass respect for the work he's been doing. He has single handedly brought legitimacy back to the U.S. Title. Whoever takes it off of Cena eventually will get a major rub for it. He's putting on top notch matches with mid-carders every week and make them look legit even in losses. And working with developmental talents like Owens and Zayn has been awesome too and he's done a great job about making them look good. I know a lot of people didn't like the feud with Rusev, but I enjoyed it and thought it was a logical ending to the Rusev anti-America storyline.

Just really pleased with everything he's been doing lately. For a guy that gets hated on as much as much as he does, I've found him to be top notch these past few months and really enjoy him in this role.

Cena's main problem was that he was working with the same group of people on a loop, and had been for a decade. It's hard to invest in feuds when you've seen them all before, especially when one side of that feud shrugs off everything the other half does and makes tired and juvenile jokes.

Now he's working against more varied opponents (Ambrose, Zayn, fucking Zack Ryder, Owens), he's not the focus of the shows, and he's getting to show that despite all the criticism he gets, that he can work. It's an ideal role for him at the moment, and above all else, it's refreshing.

I've actually watched the last couple of Raws and he certainly seems a lot more tolerable than I remember.

It was funny how Ryder hit like 4 signature moves / finishers on Cena in a row, then he pops up and AA's him for the win. Some things never change

His long promos have been pretty bad still. He's just saying the same thing every week, and it's not working for me. That being said, him working in the mid card is a great position for him, as it gives him a whole bunch of new opponents and he can help legitimise a lot of them. He's helped guys like Neville, Zayn and Owens look like stars with the United States Championship Open Challenge, and we've gotten some really fun matches out of it too. So all in all, I am enjoying him a lot more than I have in years really. But those 10 minute promos before his matches are still a chore to sit through. Everything else has been good.
