Mirror's Edge Catalyst Revealed

Postby SlightlyJames » Jun 18, '15, 7:47 am

From what I understand, this game is a prequel to the original Mirror's Edge. The devs have really been bigging up how fluid they've made the control for this game, the original was a nice concept and I know a lot of people really enjoyed it. It wasn't quite for me, it just seemed rather off at times and in a game where flow is pretty much everything I found it lacking direction in a few areas leading to me standing around and scratching my head.

This one is being said to be open world, whether that will remedy the problems I had with the original remains to be seen. Either way, the game will be out February of next year.

Yay! I loved Mirrors Edge - it was a fun, chilled simple game that was a stark contrast to everything else I was playing at the time and had a great score so I've been patiently waiting for a new game for a while now. That said I'm a bit bummed that this is a prequel because I don't particularly care to know what Faith was doing prior to the first game and I'd much rather continue her story from where it left off.

What is it with movie and game companies toying with peoples' beloved franchises and instead of giving them PROGRESSION to the story, they go for "before the story you loved." FUCK THAT SHIT. :banghead :angry4

I hate prequels.

Depends on the story. Some have a lot of history that is HUGE in the making of what it is. Prequels can also be very nice, because a sequel can be shit since a lot of things in the beloved story were wrapped up. Coming up with a new villain and a new epic story that tops what was there, is sometimes worse than showing how the real story came to be in the first place.

as for Mirror's Edge, yay. Not totally my kinda game but I know a lot of people drooled for it to come.
