What are some sequels or remakes you'd like to see?

Postby Everlong » May 15, '14, 3:47 pm

We were talking about this on Skype earlier this afternoon, so I figured I'd put the topic up here.

Top of the list for me are a spiritual successor to Red Dead Redemption, and of course, Fallout 4. You gotta figure they're working on both of those right now, but just haven't made announcements yet. It's been four years since RDR came out, and almost 4 since New Vegas came out. I'm ready for new ones :tim

Would love to see another Fallout and another KOTOR but not MMOs. Also remake the Mass Effect trilogy on PS4 and X-Box One.

I'd love to see another Red Dead, but I would want them to differentiate it from GTA a little more. Or you know what, I'd just like more western games in general.

Other than that, I'm not really that picky. I'll play any old shit.

I would love a new Red Dead Redemption game. That was easily the most enjoyable (and particularly the most immersive) sandbox game that I've ever played. A spiritual successor to that would be amazing. Even a similar game set during a different period of history would be cool. What I loved about it was the atmosphere and how interactive the world felt. A sandbox set outside of a big city works much better because you can actually make it that all the houses can be entered and random events can happen as you're on the road ... everything just feels more alive.

A new Dishonored game would be great too. I loved the first one, it has probably the best game play of a one player adventure game for the last several years. So much fun and the world was very vibrant and interesting too. They could do a lot more with it. I'd like to see even more open areas and new characters and powers. They already rotated in some new powers with the DLC that were really fun to use. It just cemented in my mind that this is a franchise that can and should continue.

My big one though is that I want a new Medievil game. Call it Medievil 3, or even just go and reboot the series. I might even prefer the latter because there are story elements from the first game that would be cool to go over again on a new generation - and to reintroduce the public to the setting and to Daniel Fortesque himself.

I loved the original Medievil game, it was funny, colourful and interesting. It had a wonderful aesthetic, great gameplay, some of the coolest secrets in any game I've played. It was a really unique playing experience. And I'm just imagining how great it would be with even prettier fairytale graphics, even more detailed levels, etc. I'd waste so many hours playing that game. :P

It'd be cool to see Here Comes the Pain in HD.

On the subject of wrestling games, a new Fire Pro would be amazing. Will never happen though.

Ah how could I forget KOTOR! They could do some incredible things with that series now, especially given the success that Mass Effect had, they could basically use the same model. Mass Effect borrowed a lot of its style from the original KOTOR but massively improved upon it, I'd LOVE for them to revisit the KOTOR franchise. WIth Disney owning Star Wars property now though, that'll probably be quite a bit more difficult to get done.

Not that I play games regularly any more but I would love a re-make of Streets of Rage in next-gen. It could be amazingly good. Other than that, Robocop vs. Terminator would be another one, just for nostalgic reasons, to be re-imagined.
