This has become one of the biggest online security flaws ever. If you use Facebook, Tumblr, GMail, GoDaddy, Minecraft... you may be affected and your info may be compromised. I'd strongly advise reading about it in depth and change your passwords.

From what little I have read about it, I don't really understand why they're asking people to change their passwords. It seems that your security can just as easily be compromised once you have already changed your passwords, so what's the point?

Most people are going to be too lazy to change all of their passwords anyway, because just remembering all the ones you already have is extremely tedious.

Basically I read this news story as "If you are a person who uses the internet, there is a chance that you're going to get extremely fucked and there's nothing you can do about it." It was an uplifting news story, for sure.
