Farcry 4 is going to be amazing!

Any idea how good the PC version is for Far Cry 3? I'm probably going to be holding off getting a new console for a while yet because I just bought a brand new gaming pC.

Easily one of my favorite series with FarCry 3 being my favorite. I cannot wait for this one. There's also an addition to online play where IF you or a friend has a copy of the gamr, you can invite someone else into the game, even if they dont have a copy of it. Kinda like a guest thing. Pretty freakin sweet.

Ubisoft are pretty high on my shit list atm, I hear Far Cry 4 is being done by a lot of the same guys who worked on the joke that is Assassin's Creed Unity and they've supposedly been pretty bad with sending out review copies so I'd be skeptical about the game's quality until it's out and I see reviews rolling in. I always advise against pre-orders for this sort of thing.

I haven't heard anything about Unity at all... didn't even know there was a new AC game coming out How bad is it?

No big deal, I want to review and critique the game myself, my pockets aren't hurting and I've had fun playing Far Cry every year. I'm sure this year will be no different.

Don't get me wrong, Far Cry 3 was bloody fantastic. That's built up a decent bit of goodwill from me, it looks like this game is going to be Far Cry 3.5 and I'm okay with that, some people aren't. I get why people would be hyped but I'd be very skeptical about the game strictly from a performance standpoint considering how bad Unity ended up being and how many of the same people worked on the games.

Inquisition looks good, BioWare have a lot of making up to do after Dragon Age 2 but from everything I've been hearing the game should be worth a pop.

Basically the game isn't finished. It could easily have done with another year of polish, on release it has had fucking terrible performance issues, struggling to hit 60fps even on absolute monster PCs. The console versions regularly chug down to 20fps and the game suffers from ridiculously poor pop-in from objects and characters. Windows, at certain angles just turn into black voids and shit like this happens all the time. The hugely touted multiplayer aspect of the game has been restricted to a few select missions and a standalone story because they didn't have enough time to integrate it properly into the main game. For what it's worth, besides the myriad of technical issues there is some wonderful art direction in the game however the protagonist is kind of bleh the story is bland as all fuck.

The game was rushed out the door for no good reason. They have a reportedly serviceable Assassin's Creed game this year in Rogue that they only put on last generation consoles. They could easily have ported that to next gen systems and PC if they were looking for a holdover and some cash this year and that would have allowed them to actually finish Unity.

I'm glad I never got into the AC games like that, I played a couple and it was fun as a new experience but I couldn't dedicate myself to the franchise.

Honestly I'm glad that the Assassin's Creed franchise is falling apart. They had a great thing going until they decided to start doing yearly releases, then there was the whole bit with AC3 being godawful and now this, they deserve everything they get. Greed over quality should never be rewarded.

Again, if you enjoyed FC3, there's ABSOLUTELY NO REASON you will not enjoy this one. Talk about a BEAUTIFUL game, you can tell they put tons of work into this game.

I did like the alternate ending you can get 15 minutes into the game though.

If you hang out in the place where Pagan leaves you when you first get control he eventually comes back, asks if you liked the Crab Rangoon then helps you place your mothers ashes. Then the credits roll.

When it works right the game looks bloody fantastic. I updated my drivers and the tree flickering is gone, the game runs a whole lot better too. I've only scratched the ice on the story so far but it seems pretty standard, the game is gorgeous though and the gun mechanics feel just as tight as the last game.

Oh and fuck those birds.
