What games are you getting this fall?

Postby Everlong » Oct 21, '15, 1:53 pm

I'm for sure getting Halo, Just Cause 3, Fallout 4 and the new Tomb Raider game. There will also probably be a few indy games I pick up on Steam once they put their Black Friday/holiday sale up.

Any ones you guys are particularly looking forward to that I should look into? Preferably ones that are standalone games or from franchises I probably haven't heard of?

It's criminal how few people here have been talking about Undertale. It came out last month and it is just delightful. It's an old style RPG with bucketloads of character. It has received an insane amount of critical acclaim and from what I've played it honestly deserves it. Pretty much anyone can run the game and it's reasonably cheap so there's no reason not to try this one.

As far as stuff that isn't out, the main one I'm looking forward to right now is Afterbirth, the huge expansion coming for last year's The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. I'll be playing a whole lot of that. Speaking of expansions, The Witcher 3 got one recently as well called Hearts of Stone. I haven't played that yet but I hear it's pretty good.

If you haven't played Tales From The Borderlands, the last episode of that released yesterday and it'll no doubt be on sale in the near future. I had a wonderful time with that game, couldn't recommend it enough. I'm slightly less enamored with the Game of Thrones game but that will be concluding next month and I'm quite excited for that as well.

For anyone who's console only there are three games that have/will get a console release this month that I'm surprised nobody has said anything about. Wasteland 2, The Talos Principle and Divinity: Original Sin are all pretty solid and worth a look if you haven't had the chance until now on console.

I'm probably going to check out the second season of The Walking Dead some time soon. I might give the new Tomb Raider game a look too. I'm a big fan of the original PS games and while the last Tomb Raider game didn't measure up to them, I still thought it was fun.

Once I have some money again, I might consider picking up a WiiU and getting the new Smash Bros and some of the Mario games.

Well I just picked up the Uncharted Collection since I had a blast playing them on PS3. I was never really a fan of shooters before this game but one of my friends forgot it a my house years ago and played the shit out of the first one.

Also the new WWE 2K16 game looks good so a pre-ordered that from Amazon so I be playing that game to starting next week.

I'm really tempted to get a WiiU at some point. Nintendo is the only gaming company that really still gives a rip about local multiplayer it seems, and I like having people over to hang out and play games.

I just looked it up and I'm intrigued, though I don't know if I'd be able to get over the visual style. Still, for less than ten bucks it looks like it could be worth giving a shot, and reviews look overwhelmingly positive.

Wicher 3 can't run on my PC so I'm thinking of getting Witcher 2 instead.

Good game, I had a really great time with it. Overall I did enjoy Witcher 3 more but it's not exactly worlds apart, definitely worth a play.

I'd love the new tomb raider but it doesnt look like its coming to the PS4. A WiiU is fantastic, plus the new Zelda is coming out. I still in the hunt for a 3DS cuz Pokemon.

The new Nintendo NX looks decent too.

They're very different animals, witcher 3 is much more open and similar to other RPGs you may have played. But I really like the storybook feel of Witcher 2, and it's definitely worth playing.
