Facebook are developing an app to rival Snapchat

Amazing how Facebook are just a juggernaut that won't stop. I swear at this rate the whole internet will just be Facebook and Google products haha.

They just can't stand that there's something popular they don't own, can they? I doubt this will succeed unless they actually add something to it that Snapchat doesn't have.

They WILL have something to it that Snapchat doesn't: Instant Facebook connectivity. Regardless of all these people saying that Facebook isn't "cool" any more, it's still far and away the most widely used social network and it's not even close. People will have the option to share their videos/pictures instantly over Facebook, and rather than having to make an account solely for the app they will have it connected to their Facebook account, which will also make it easier to find friends on the app.

The rest of the app could be basically a complete copy of Snapchat. Wouldn't be too hard to duplicate.

Never used Snapchat but heard about it. Just the same as WhatsApp ain't it?

Facebook will, as Tim said, have more of an alluring product if they create their own Snapchat/WhatsApp.
