Re: Weird Al Yankovic Scores First Ever #1 Album

As anyone who has ever had to work with management types, you will understand this one. It's sad how many I have come across:

Re: Rate the last film that you've watched

Not the last I watched, but always the last I remembered:

Dear Zachary: A Letter To His Son About His Father

Bloody heartbreaking documentary, extremely difficult to watch, but very well done. It is definitely worth watching, but take care, I couldn't sleep the day after watching it. 8/10

Re: August 2014 Football/Fútbol Discussion: "Can't wait for the fucking season to start" Edition

Pompey for Europe...
Oh wait, damn... Pompey for surviving in the league system!

Tony Pulis... I don't understand how he kept getting jobs, he was inept. He was at Pompey 15 years ago, and he was awful then. He hasn't improved much since then.

Re: Do you know your origins/roots?

By background is English and Scottish. You dig far enough into either, and you realise that Europe is basically completely interbred. Scots were Irish, English were Scots or French, and you've only gone back 300 years. And by that rationale, I am descended from Charlemagne: http://phenomena.national...

Re: The 25 least visited countries in the world

I know of 4 people who have been to North Korea as tourists, so there are some people that go. And of the 35,000-odd that do go, approximately 2/3rds are Chinese citizens.

And Nauru is especially surprising - because Australia used to send people there all the time.

Re: World Cup Discussion Thread

The Aussies are also out so it's just a matter of pride . Netherlands vs Chile for first in the group should be great. Never thought I'd say this, but I'm taking some confidence into this game after our first two performances ;) You've probably jinxed it now. :nono Still, we're on track to my best ...

Re: Google street views show the rapid decline of Detroit since 2008

Detroit has actually been in a slow decline for decades (arguably since a sharp peak in the 1950s), but it just accelerated rapidly as of 6 years ago. I've always been fascinated by urban decay from flight that you see in the US, as it doesn't really happen here. It seems weird to me that you can ju...

Re: Michael Schumacher out of coma, out of intensive care

They said he was responding occasionally a few months ago, which I think by its very definition is not a coma. It's also not clear just how well he is doing, if at all.

It's frustrating without more information, but I can understand they are keeping quiet to protect the family's privacy.

Yes, this. Particularly at the beginning in the nut house. And when all the heads were yelling and screaming.

Re: FIFA 15 on the PC will be the Ignite version

The FIFA PC versions usually drag about 12 months on the most recent console version, with updated features etc.

It used to be worse, I remember FIFA 10 on the PC was still the PS2 version. Didn't realise until after I'd paid for it.

Re: Who was your favourite WWE-Club member who missed the PubTalk lifeboat?

steve84 was a good bloke, Pompey fan too so he was the only dude that could relate to what it's like when your club hits rock bottom. They and I are still standing. Play up Pompey, Pompey play up. Fratton Park is not a Tesco yet. Good to have you back mate, chuffed to see you've signed up. Bradford...

Re: Introduce yourself

Yep, as I remember the123 was the full of himself idiot who claimed he was writing a book when he got sick of stirring people up. I suspect he was a plant. Was often confused with the Birmingham Cena fan who preceded him. Yeah, he said he was writing some book after the whole 7Stephen7 thing, great...

Re: Who was your favourite WWE-Club member who missed the PubTalk lifeboat?

Ocelot's a good mention. MotorcitySaint and ESW were here, but they haven't been on in ages. Wish they'd come back, they're great posters. steve84 is one I definitely wish was here. More than anyone, Stunned316. That guy was awesome, and an outstanding poster, but I have no way of getting in touch ...

Re: A Kentucky restaurant has instituted a new policy of no tipping of servers, opting for something better...

As an Aussie, I'm with Chewy. It's a mathematical nightmare when I travel to the States, and I'm pretty good with numbers normally. It's even worse when on business, because often the business won't cover gratituties. Just pay them a proper wage to begin with, include all taxes in the actual listed ...

Re: Introduce yourself

Maybe some oldtimers remember me, it's been a few years (I think at least 3), but either which way I thought I'd resuscitate the name for old time's sake. I see a few familiar names as well, so I thought I might join and see what's what. Has the123 joined yet? YES! You're one of the names that cons...

A bit late to the thread, but did Graham Poll get a mention for his 3 yellow cards to Simunic?
