A fine theory! Except that's not where Lisbon is either.

Re: So, Renee Zellweger looks different...

^^^ Or both, perchance? It's not unnatural to be startled when a person whose appearance you know well looks so very different. When I saw this picture at first I didn't think that the woman in it looked bad; I just didn't recognise her. And I am freaking obsessed with Down With Love , so it's not t...

Re: So, Renee Zellweger looks different...

Someone spent their summer at plastic surgery camp... these things are always cheaper when the person isn't trained yet. :P So... definitely eyelids, probably jaw, and possibly mouth? I can't tell what the skin-tone oddity is a result of; maybe she just rolled out of a chemical peel and on to the re...

Re: My Own Little Blog

Damn, I would be for the removal... not necessarily of Watson, but of any and all gifs as signatures. I find it distracting to have so much movement happening near where I'm trying to read - in fairness though, I generally just scroll to avoid it.

Re: PubTalkForum's Greatest Actor! - ROUND ONE: Kevin Spacey (4) vs. Kate Winslet (5)

Winslet, but it's very tight - both are deserving.

Favourite performance by Kate Winslet - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Favourite performance by Kevin Spacey - House of Cards

Re: PubTalkForum's Greatest Actor! - ROUND ONE: Katharine Hepburn (4) vs. James Stewart (5)

This is a toughie, but I went with Hepburn. They were both great, I just think she was a little stronger generally - to me Streep vs Hanks would be a fair modern comparison. Favourite performance by Katharine Hepburn - Guess Who's Coming to Dinner Favourite performance by Jimmy Stewart - Rear Window

Re: WB Releases DC Comic Film Schedule thru 2020

Wow, they're committing to The Flash already? What if the new tv show is stupidly and incredibly successful? It's not like they'd have to wait too long to figure it out. I do like Ezra Miller though, and The Flash is a fun character, so other than that it'd be my pick of the bunch. The others do not...

Yes, but was it adapted into an adaptation of an adaptation or was it just an adaptation of something normal? :D

It's the movie adaptation of the writing process for the adaptation of a written work into a movie.

Re: What song would you like to see adapted into a book?

Not a book! There should be an anthology series á la American Horror Story - Country Music Tales. It could be on daytime tv, and they could do it soap-opera style.

Re: What book/movie would you like to see adapted as a video game?

I think a fair amount of horror media could be adapted into video games very successfully. I general, I think the feeling of danger and helplessness (of the protagonists) utilised by a lot of horror media could be gotten across even better in a video game - where you are the protagonist. Also, the m...

Re: Movie adaptations better than the book

It is one book though. :P Fair enough, they did use some stuff from some of his other works that nobody cares about. But that doesn't make the complaint any less valid. People watching a movie of the Hobbit mostly want the story that they know from the book. and they get it, it's not like it's not ...

Re: Books you would like to see aparted into movies

Good Omens should really be made into a film or (possibly even better!) a mini-series. This one has been in the works a few times, but it's never gotten made. I get a little more cynical every time it doesn't happen. :( It's everything Dogma wishes it could be! And I even like Dogma. :D I'd consider...

Re: Movie adaptations better than the book

I'd say Fight Club the movie definitely has the edge over the book - it's a little less juvenile (for lack of a better word), and the ending is tighter.

The book's still worth a look, though.

Re: PubTalkForum's Greatest Actor! - ROUND ONE: Clint Eastwood (3) vs. Jennifer Lawrence (6)

So, I didn't end up watching Winter's Bone yet (one day!), and I probably would've ended up voting for Eastwood anyway; I remembered about Play Misty for Me ! I fucking love that film. So, Cling Eastwood takes it. Give her 10 years though, she'll have a killer catalogue. Favourite performance by Cli...

Re: PubTalkForum's Greatest Actor! - ROUND ONE: Daniel Day-Lewis (3) vs. Edward Norton (6)

Edward Norton for the win here. Day-Lewis is very good, but I just prefer Norton, as well as being more likely to watch the films that he's in (Lincoln looked really boring - I believe people who say the performance was great, but still). Favourite performance by Edward Norton - American History X F...
